Cardabilities Sketch #30

Good Morning Bloggers,

Time again for the Design Teams reveal on Cardabilities.

I used Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge to make the entire card. Green cardstock was all I used from my stash. Everything else print and cut on the Cricut.

Diamond stickles added to the butterfly and pearl beads.

Lots of layers on the card and pop dots used for dimension.

Sketch
Be sure to check out the other designs at Cardabilities.

Be sure to create a card using the sketch and upload it to the new on-line gallery for a chance to win some great prizes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Skate Boarding

Good Morning,

No scrapbook page today...still working on it...some days it just takes longer than others.

About three hours north of us at Dallas they have been experiencing lots of tornadoes. Hope they stay that way. We are actually hoping we will get some rain here soon. We haven't had any precipitation in days ( I actually can't remember when it last rained) and it's been terribly windy.

Made a birthday card for a nephew. All the kids are getting older so the stamps I have just aren't age appropriate anymore. So I got out my cricut again and went to work.

Pattern paper printed using the JT cartridge.

Skate image from Boys Will Be Boys and flood filled with the JT cartridge.  I raised the image up with dimensionals and it came out pretty cute.

Better get it in the mail soon so it actually arrives on time.

Think I'll mosey over to my craft table and take another look at that scrapbook page.

Enjoy your day!

Blooming Daffodils

Good Morning,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

I had a quiet week-end but did get in some crafting and exercise and there was no chocolate in the house so the exercise should be beneficial. lol

I do like those Heartfelt Creation stamps. The flowers were stamped on vellum heat embossed with white powder and then colored with yellow markers on the backside of the image.

Martha Stewart border punch.
Bird cut from Wall Decor and I can't remember which cartridge I cut the Spring from.

Nestabilities for the circles and Tim Holtz Distress ink for the sponging.

If you're looking for crafting supplies FargoCat Shops will help to enable you! lol She also has this card in her shop right now if you want a look at it up close and personal.

I think I used Stickles on the bird.

Here's hoping that if you don't have flowers blooming yet this card will get you in the mood for spring.

Fantasy Box

Hi There,

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter week-end. Getting all the eggs colored, buying more chocolate cause YOU ate the goodies bought last week. lol I always have to make sure I buy the candy and give it right away!

This is a Fantasy Keepsake Box. So easy to make. Click here for the directions. Stubby Stamper is where I got the directions and there are lots of great ideas there.

All the cardstock was Walmart textured white and printed with Blossom cartridge with the Imagine. The pretty little flower on the top came from FargoCat Shops.

Filled with Easter chocolate.

This is a pre-loaded template on Lori's Garden cartridge. It was simply print and cut!

The pillow box below was from cartridge Easter 2010 however it had an opening on the front in a rabbit shape. Used the Gypsy to hide the lines so they wouldn't cut out.

I think that is all of my Easter goodies. Hope to see you on Monday.

Thanks for visiting.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!

Goodie Bags

Happy Good Friday!

I'm up early this morning. 6:00 a.m. Even though I'm here by myself I always find lots to do to keep busy.

These are the two goodie bags I made.

"Jack" letters from Country Carnival.

Fossil from Dinosaur cartridge.
The butterfly and bird are from "Lori's Garden"and the font from Wall Decor.
I've been using that cartridge quite a bit lately. I do have a masculine card coming up that used that cartridge too.

Close-up of the 3-d bird and butterfly.

Wishing everyone a "Happy Easter".

Stop by tomorrow as I have a Fantasy Box to show you.

Door Knob Hangers

Hello

Posting later today....blogger is doing some updates and I couldn't upload photos this morning.

Today I have two door knob hangers for the neighbor children.

I used Cricut Cartridge - Tags, Bags  & More cut 1t 10" on the blackout feature. They were cut once from pattern paper and once from a lightweight chipboard and glued together for some stability.

The fairies and small popped up flowers are stamped images colored with copics. I have realized that most of my Cricut cartridges have a definite boy theme. Going to have to fix that.

"No Boys Allowed" from Wall Decor cartridge. Shadow cut from regular cardstock and glitter paper used for the other layer. Sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass.

I used regular green cardstock and then stamped a leaf randomly over top with a Versamark ink. Edges distressed with Tim Holtz Bundled Sage and then some Faux stitching.

The images are from the Dinosaur cartridge. These images were print and cut on the Imagine.
I'm sort of on altered or anything but a card mode. lol I have gift bags to show tomorrow.

Mini Backpack

Hi There,

I've got quite a few projects I need to upload to share with you.

Easter is coming and I've made a few things for the children that live nearby.

The first is a little backpack filled with Easter chocolate. I think it is adorable.

I got the idea from Splitcoaststampers. If you click on the link it will take you to the directions.

I did alter the directions a little cause I'm not fond  of cutting out templates from the computer. So the main part of the backpack was cut at 9 1/4 x 5 1/4" Scored at 1 1/2, 4 1/2, 6, & 9". Rotate paper and score at 1 1/4". You will need to snip to the score line so you can fold the bottom for the box.

If you read their directions it will be clear. I always do a practice run on printer paper to get the idea of how it goes together.

I did download the flaps so I could use them as a template. If you end up using my dimensions it will be slightly larger than the dowloads so just take that into consideration when you are cutting the width for the paper flaps.

Velcro to keep it closed.
Stop back to see me tomorrow. I'll have some door hangers to show you!

It's Official

Good Morning...

I have a card to share and some other exciting news. First the card.

I tried to get this uploaded last night so I could enter it into the Mojo Monday contest. Unfortunately my internet was misbehaving and I couldn't access anything last night.

Cardstock - Co-ordinations & Bazzill
Pattern Paper - Costco
Stamps - Heartfelt Creations & Just-Rite Stamps
Copic Markers and SU Ink
Spellbinder Nestabilities
Misc Pearls and Ribbon
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Stickles - Diamond
Most supplies can be purchased at FargoCat Shops.

Now for the exciting news....Kristen and I are officially registered for the 2011 Mitsubishi City Chase.  We will be racing in Toronto June 25th! This is a obstacle course/scavenger hunt. It is  probably the closest we will get to competing in The Amazing Race! lol

You have to complete 10 of 12 events for the day. Nope...you don't know what you are doing till you get there. Click on the link above and you can look through past photos to see what some of the events are (they change from year to year).

Think I'm crazy????  Probably am but I'm looking forward to it.

Better sign off and head to the gym.

Tutorial - Easter Box - Kristen Don't Read Today's Post!

Good Morning!

This is a quick tutorial on making a little box to hold some Easter goodies.

I bought some chocolate bunnys and chicks at the grocery store. The container the chocolate came in is about 2" x 5" long.

Sizing on paper - 6 1/2" square

Score at 3/4",2 7/8", 3 5/8", 5 3/4"

Rotate paper quarter turn and score at 3/4" & 5 3/4"

Snip paper to the 3/4" fold  on each end. This makes the flaps to fold the box.

The paper is printed from the Blossom Imagine cartridge. Isn't it pretty?
Keep in mind when you are doing your score lines how you want your pattern paper to look at a folded up box.

You can see here how the chocolate box fits in...nothing is taped into place yet.
(Making sure my measurement were accurate)

I used good double sided tape to hold the box together.

Chocolate in. Top folds nicely over.

Just left to decorate the top.
I think the chick and saying are from Create A Critter.
I really have to write these things down as I'm making the project otherwise I simply forget.

The bunnys on this box are cut from the Easter 2010 cartridge.
Do you get the joke???? One bunny is saying "Happy Easter"......

and the other bunny can't hear cause someone ate his ear. lol

I'm also entering this project over at Creative Critterz Imagination Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Enjoy the week-end.

Cardabilities - Sketch #29

Good Morning...

Today the new design team for Cardabilities are revealing their posts and I'm excited to be part of this group. Twice monthly new sketches are posted and you can now upload your creations to a newly formed gallery to share. Not only is there a card gallery there is also one for scrapbook layouts.

Be sure to pop over to  the Cardabilities blog to see what the rest of the design team have done with the sketch. Also there is a great prize package to be won and all you have to do is upload a card using the sketch below and you'll be entered in the draw.

I used Heartfelt Creations stamp Daffy Daffodils. Colored with copic markers. The border is a Martha Stewart punch and I love how you can weave the ribbon in and out. Ribbon from Michaels. Saying from PSX.

I choose to rotate the sketch.

If you choose to play along with the sketch you have until April 29th to get your card uploaded to the gallery.

Tomorrow I'll have a box tutorial for you. Promise!

Xavier's Birthday - #2

Happy Birthday Xavier!

Can't believe it is two whole years already. Time flies just like his birthday card!

I made the whole card with my Imagine. I printed all the paper. Cartridge for the helicopter was "Boys Will Be Boys."

Faux stitching around all the pieces. Vellum paper for the window! Inked the edges of the helicopter too.

I was going to put up a box tutorial on Monday but I had some problems uploading pictures and then we went away. Spent some time in Corpus Christie and San Antonio. Hopefully Saturday I'll have the tutorial together.

Tomorrow I will be posting my first card as part of the design team with
Cardabilities. Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see my take on the sketch and the rest of the gals.

March 2012 Calendar Page

Good Morning...

I'm staying on track. Just finished my March calendar page. Remember I'm actually making the calendar a year in advance so I can give some photocopies of them for Christmas.

Both pieces of pattern paper are from the line On A Whimsy by jackie eckles. I didn't want to cover up too much of the background on this page cause it was so cute.

This is Xavier visiting us in February. We tried to go to the park almost everyday. By the end of the week he had mastered the slide by himself. Just so cute. The lettering is from Alphalicious cartridge and the little animal is from Create a Critter. There's a little character on Xaviers t-shirt that looks like my little critter. If you click the pic you might get a better look. lol

Seeing that this was for the month of March I thought I'd focus on St. Patrick's Day. I liked the green and orange and it went with the paper. I used Designer Studio cartridge for the main part of the calendar. Rainbow and sun are from Create a Critter. The pot of gold and hat from Everyday Paperdolls. Added gold stickles to the top of the pot for effect.

Top stitched everything with a black  marker. The numbers printed on the computer with Grafix Rub-ons.
All the green paper, critter, rainbow, sun, hat were printed and cut with the Imagine.
Thanks for looking today.

We've been invited out for supper tomorrow night so that should be fun.

Next week for projects...I'll have an Easter box tutorial. I actually need to get a couple projects done today and linked to my blog cause I'm planning on being out of town next week. Don't know where....but gone.

Fuchsia Re-visited

Good Morning,

Showing you another variation on the Fushsia stamp from Heartfelt Creations.

I used the same color copics as Monday's post so please refer back for details.

The shape with the Swiss Dots was cut from the Imagine using a pre-loaded shape.

The border is from Elegant Cakes cartridge.

The green background is pattern paper from the Blossom Cartridge.

The pearls were white and I colored with my purple copic to match my project.
The sentiment - Stampin' Up.

Not much going on here. Planning on getting some brick work done on the flowerbeds in a couple of weeks.

Appreciate all the new people who have signed up to either Follow my blog or have Subscribed to the e-mails. Thank - you. I also do enjoy reading your comments!

1st Birthday - Celebration Cartridge

Morning...it's the week-end.

I started this post yesterday but got side-tracked. I finished this page up about a week ago. I figured I needed to get it done as his second birthday is in less than two weeks. To be fair I did do a couple pages of him playing with his birthday riding toy right after his first birthday so I'm not really a bad Nana!

All the cut out images were done with the Cricut Celebrations cartridge.

I liked the idea of creating a filmstrip idea of him eating his cake.

I have a Heartfelt Creations card to share with you on Monday.

Enjoy your week-end....if you have snow I hope it is melting. We had one of our warmest days yet this year...it topped out around 90F yesterday.
