Long post today so grab that coffee and let's get to it. I'm featuring Tim Holtz Distress Inks, blending tools and the splat mat. I've linked a video so you can watch how the products are used. All I can say is they work exactly like the video shows them. The splat mat is awesome in enabling you to blend your ink colors. If you think you can use a piece of scrap paper and get it to work the same, you won't. Besides that the scrap paper will suck up your ink before you get a chance to blend it to your product.

I'm sharing three cards with you all using distress inks.
Card One -
Using the Tim Holtz method as shown in the above link I blended Forest Moss, Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey over top of an ivory colored cardstock. (the pieces would be the clock face and the strip in the middle of the card) Coverage was very easy to do and I did use the blending sponges and the splat mat. Added some distress ink around the outer layer of the clock face and distressed the edge of the paper on the face. The clock face was stamped with Pumice Stone as were the multiple images on the border. Both the sentiment and the saying were embossed in black. The edge at the top of the border is Bazzill's half borders and the lower edge is black grosgrain ribbon with a metal buckle. Finish it off with a brad for the clock centre and you have a Father's Day or any masculine card.
Card Two -
The image and sentiment are both stamped in distress ink Pumice Stone. The pieces of cardstock the train image and the pieces in the background that were cuttlebugged started out being a light sand color. Sort of like the wall behind the card...Bundled Sage & Stormy Sky were used to alter the color. The color of paper the sentiment is stamped on and the layer behind the train and behind the strips of cardstock are Baha Breeze which is also the color of the base of the card and corresponding layers. I added Pumice Stone to the edges. See how easy it was to alter the cardstock color with these inks and I didn't need to have multiple cardstock colors to create multiple layers. The large piece of background paper that everything is layered onto was from my scrap pile. Added some Dew Drops as filler and accent. The image and the sentiment are raised with dimensionals.
Card Three -
This image is from a photostamp and is stamped on glossy cardstock. Image is just lightly colored in with Ciao markers. Keep in mind you don't need a lot of different colored markers as they are designed so you can do multiple layers of color. So if you have a light brown you can do multiple layers to create a darker color. Also you can use different colored markers over top of each other without damaging your marker and create your own color palette.
When I stamped the image I left a larger border of white around the image to frame it. On scrap paper I stamped the image a second time and cut it out right along the border of the stamp. Now I've created a mask to lay over top of the image so I can use Distress Ink Spun Sugar around the outer border of the image without the worry of getting color onto my stamped image. Once again in a circular motion starting on your splat mat and continuing to your paper work the color onto the border. I also cut a larger piece of glossy cardstock and completely covered that piece to match the top layer. Another of the Bazzill Half edges down the right side. So how many different shapes have I shown you now. Each package has 10 different shapes (2 of each). Lastly I had some pretty little black flowers and I added a gemstone brad in the centre with little bits of organdy ribbon sticking out here and there.
