X Marks The Spot

Good Morning,

Thought I would give you a break from my Easter creations.

This card is for one of my nephews. I'm late getting it in the mail. Excuses....had to decide on what to make but I hate going to the post office so that is why it is late. :( I try to go once a month and get all my cards out at one time.

It was pretty easy to create. Used Imagine - Buccaneer cartridge. It's so so fun and great for boys. The image is dimensional using pop dots.
There is a treasure at "X".
Lots to do today. Going to bike to the gym this morning. Double exercise.
Maybe this afternoon get my hair done (haven't booked the appointment so that might be iffy).
Could use some flowers for the planters.
I did spend part of yesterday getting all the weeds out of the flower beds so I can put down new mulch.
Exciting life isn't it? lol
So tell me what is going on in your life?

Easter Decor

Hi There,

I told you I'm in Easter mode. I'm really liking the spring colors of the charger plates. The green is the most vibrant but they also come in a pale pink, lavender and an interesting blue. I have the blue one and just need to figure out how to decorate it.

Butterflies/Flowers - Walk In My Garden (Glittered some of the vinyl pieces for accenting.)
Bunny, Eggs & Basket - Easter 2010
Happy Easter - Letter Envy

Basket and eggs printed from Yummy cartridge on the printable vinyl. Bunny cut from brown vinyl and then flocked. Worked great and easy.
Challenges Entered
FCCB - #103 - Celebrate Spring
(must have at least three flowers)
Splendiferous Creations - Bloggers Challenge - Happy Easter
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog - Anything Spring or Easter
Our Craft Lounge - Spring Things

Time to get outside and enjoy the spring weather.

Shakin' & Rock'n

Hi There,

Well I've been busy in my craftroom making Easter projects.

I was blog surfing yesterday and stumbled across a site that had a challenge for using an action Wobbler. I still had a spare bunny head already created so thought this was a perfect opportunity to complete a card. Be sure to check out Scrappy Moms Stamps for inspiration and if you're looking for some of those action wobblers they are for sale on her site.

The bunny is from cartridge Easter 2010 and flocked applied to the image. For the design of the card I went to MojoMonday and used sketch #231 for inspiration.

Using Cricut Craftroom I designed all the  paper colors and sizing before I cut. That program saves me so much paper cause I'm not always re-cutting to get the size correct. The colors and patterns are from Cricut Imagine - Elise. There are some really nice patterns on there especially for scrapbook pages.

Other Supplies
Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Happy Easter - Stampin' Up
Border Punch - Stampin' Up
Ink - Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet
Brads & Ribbon
The bunny's eyes show up better in person. The brown flock is showing up much darker than it should.
If you're still reading I'm going to share a little about my week-end. On Saturday we went to the Houston Rodeo. Had never been before so thought we should check it out. First thing - one should have bought their tickets online. We got there and the only tickets left were standing room only. We bought them anyway. What I didn't realize is the ticket gets you in to see everything. All the exhibits, wander around the midway, food booths (nobody should go hungry there...there was food booths non-stop), inside the stadium to see the actually rodeo and GET THIS....to see the entertainment for the evening. There evening entertainment is always big name music stars. Saturday night BRAD PAISLEY was playing.

So the rodeo starts around 4:00 p.m. We go inside around 3:00 to secure a standing room only place. We stood in that same place till 8:00. The rodeo was great. So well organized. One event after the other with no down time. We got to see some of the top competitors compete. Brad Paisley came on stage at 7:00 and played till 8:00. Great concert and would certainly go again but I'd buy tickets early. But for $16.00 each I can't complain about the value I got for my dollar!

Hopping or Hopping to be back Friday with another project.

Easter Baskets

Hi There,

I'm happy to be working on Easter projects this week. I started by making an Easter card but then came up with these Easter baskets and just couldn't stop. They hold three of the Cadbury eggs nicely. I've attached a video with directions on sizing and how the baskets go together complete with showing how to use flock and glitter.
I have a whole new appreciation for those people who do videos. My video was way too long so I had to learn how to edit my clip. Six plus hours later and the video is far from perfect but I've learned a lot and next time should be easier. I'll apologize in advance that I wasn't always as close to the camera as I should have been but I was doing the taping and the demo. lol
The chick and bunny head are both on the wobbles. You can see them in action on the video. I love how the flock came out on these little critters. There's a holder inside the basket to craddle the eggs.

Pattern Paper - Imagine Blossom
Chick - Easter 2010
Added some faux stitching to the pattern paper.

Paper - Imagine - Enjoy The Seasons
Bunny - Easter 2010

Pattern Paper - Imagine - Yummy
Border on Handle - punch
Rabbit - Easter 1010
Sponged blue ink around edges of pattern paper.

The back side of the baskets are pretty much alike. Happy Easter is glittered.

Stop by Wednesday for the Easter card and I'll tell you all about going to the Houston Rodeo!

Cowboy Days

Hi There,

A little cowboy card today. Still hoping to get to the rodeo this week-end! All products are Stampin' UP.
Stamped the background crosshatch lightly and then stamped the cowboy.
Keeping it short this morning as I'm working on some Easter projects for Monday.

I also watched a free Webinar on the internet this morning on PhotoShop Elements 10.
Some very interesting stuff you can do to your photos.

Life Is Good

Hello There,
I'll start by saying if you're some of the followers thaht are interested in my personal stuff I have a story at the end of the post.

I'm also very happy that my Cheers! card from a couple weeks ago was featured in the Cricut Chirp as well as featured on Saturday on Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.
Last week I worked on some scrapbooking. I did use a sketch from Sketch Inspiration .
I wanted to use some paper that was a little more femine than all boy.
The flowers and swirls are chipboard pieces.
I used a Stampin' Up border punch, punched the cardstock on both edges then layed my green
ribbon down the centre. As you can see in the last photo I cut strips of ribbon and made an accent to co-oridinte. The paper line had matching fabric covered buttons.
On Sunday the plan was to go to the Rodeo but the weather was ugly so we decided against it....but I decided going bowling might be fun and give us something to do.
First I've bowled 5 pin with those nice light little balls. I should have turned around and left when I
realized I was going to be bowling like Fred Flinstone!  Those balls weigh a ton.
Lose the first game, getting the hang of it and win the second game....now I'm thinking I've got a couple of strikes maybe I'll work a little on form. That's about where it went downhill....
I went to heave that heavy ball and I don't know exactly what happened...whether the left foot stuck on something or what...but I threw the ball and pulled a muscle.  Now this is sore and don't be laughing.....but it is in my lower left cheek! I can't lift my leg, can't sit comfortably.  No gym for me this week so I guess I might as well craft just as long as I don't drop anything on the floor cause I can't bend over to pick it up.
Have a good week and play SAFE!

Shamrock

Good Morning,

I promise this is my last St. Patrick's Day card. They were a lot of fun to make though. Got to play in the glitter too!
Pattern paper printed using Floral Emporium Cricut Imagine.
Rainbow from St. Patrick's Day Digital Cricut
Sentiment - Stampin' Up and blue embossed
Spellbinders for the label. A little tip here - I find the sizing between dies on the spellbinder labels is larger than I would like. So after I cut the label I embossed it then added faux stitching to create the look of more layers. Also I cut one layer in green and one in white (both the same size). The white layer I cut in half and then have that just showing on the edges. Adds more dimension.
Isn't all that glitter wonderful!

After I made the card I see where it fits into a couple different challenges out there.

On a side note - Do any of you watch Survivor? I can't believe last nights tribal counsel! Won't give anymore away in case you have it taped to watch later.

Joker!

Hi There,

Once again this is my creation for the design team over at Creative Critterz Imaginations. We certainly saw some great St. Paddy's Day projects. If you may have missed seeing some of the projects it is worth your time to go back and have a peak!

Onto our next theme. April Fool's Day! I really struggled with this theme. My mind was a total blank on what to do or make. I'm really looking forward to see what the rest of the design team have come up with.

Started with the Joker from the Batman cartridge cut at 3". I do love the background and that pattern is from Snapshot Texture. Letters for "Joker" cut with Art Nouveau at 1/2" and then glittered. I used green stickles in the Joker's eyes as the green cutout was too small.

Needed something for the inside of the card so used the word processor.

Inside I placed this butterfly. There is a rubber band for the body and when you wind it up the butterfly will fly.

I received one of these in a card a couple of years ago and it certainly scared the heck out of me when I opened it. Of course I immediately made a card so I could send it onto someone else.

So this week I was on a hunt to find one of these or something else that would pop out of a card.

I found this butterfly at Hallmark for $1.99. They are called Magic Kiss.

Here's a not so good video of the butterfly in action.
Enjoy!
