Christmas Tree Bling

Good Morning,

Just a little story this morning...have you heard of "Geocaching"?

 My son mentioned it to me on the week-end while I was trying to watch Xavier on Skype...just a blurr on the computer monitor as he whizzes past showing how he can kick a ball...back to topic....

Geocaching - sort of like a scavenger hunt. People hide containers and then give you  hints and co-ordinates to find them. Makes going for a walk or a bike ride a little more interesting.

A pretty quick Christmas card to make...the part that takes time is getting the design.

Luggage Tags

Good Morning,

Glad to be here to start off another week. This week our theme over at Creative Critterz Imaginaiton is "tags".
I decided to make luggage tags. (The white paper is to hide the address and phone number!)
The base for the tags is the mirror/window option on Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. All tags were cut at 4.5"

Butterfly tag - Pattern - Industrial Glow & Butterfly - Lori's Garden ( end of post I'll talk about caching a design.)

Cut out the tag and then cut a co-ordinating insert. All the little decorative images are cut anywhere between 1.2 & 1.6".

After the tag was assembled I printed the name and address out on Rub-on transfer paper applied it to the tag and then laminated it. Trimmed around the tag and punched a hole so they can be attached.

Here is my first attempt at a video. I want to show you how to cache a pattern from one cartridge and be able to use it with another Imagine cartridge. Also will show you how to change border colors.

I apologize if the camera is a little shaky...I have it in my left hand while I'm doing everything else with the right. lol This is harder to do than I thought!

After making these you could always make small ones to hang off a purse or a kids backpack. key chain . . . lots of possibilities!

Fall Is In The Air

Morning,

A bit of a fall theme today. Our temperatures have cooled slightly but no where near what many of you are experiencing for fall weather. I think we are still in the 90's. It's comfortable now.

Today's entry I used a variety of products.

Background paper printed with the Imagine.
Stamps - Retired Stampin' Up
Cuttlebug Folder - Distressed Stripes
Nestabilities - Labels
Copic Markers
Ribbon - Stampin' Up
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Dew Drops

The leaves were first stamped with Kaleidacolor ink - Pumpkin Patch and then distress with Tim Holtz Inks. Added ink to the distressed stripes too.

Adding some ink around the edges of the layers soften the looks and makes the papers blend better together.

This particular set of labels I find the layering difficult cause I don't want such a large border. I overcame that issue by adding some stitching.

The holly leaf is from Joy of the Season cartridge. Diamond Glaze overtop of the holly berries.

Here's  a hint of things to come. . . Charger Plates... vinyl....

Made With Love

Good Morning,
I seem to be getting a backlog of projects to post. Guess that means I'm getting lots of crafty time in. The next few posts will be a combination of Halloween and Christmas. I'm having so much fun with Halloween.

Today a two-page scrapbook layout. This one was a little challenging to co-ordinate the two pages. One one side I wanted a masculine page but the other side was Xavier in the cradle with Poppy's hand on him. I think I was able to tie the two pages together.

All the tools are cut from Cricut Lite "Handyman". The silver peg board is metal and embossed with the Cuttlebug. The measuring tape down the middle came from DH's garage.

Created a work bench and then tucked this photo inside the cupboard.

Xavier was only a couple of weeks old there.

Happy Fall

Hello There!
Did you stop in and visit all of the posts last week oer at Creative Critters Imagination. Well if you didn't...you should. The design team really celebrated the "Imagine's" 1st birthday with a wonderful collection of projects.

This week there is no set theme to follow on our creations. Designers Choice.
I love creating fancy fold cards. Link to the instructions can be found here.
All images and pattern paper created with Enjoy the Seasons cartridge. The base of the card Bazzill cardstock - 6" x 12".
The sizing on the remainder of the images are lost...:( I cleaned my desk and can only assume the little piece of paper I wrote the dimensions on...is gone...forever.

Use of dimensionals between layers.

Distressed edges of pattern paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Pumice.

Card closed. Even with the dimensionals it closes nicely.

I will be using this template for more cards. Even though it looks difficult it is very easy to cut and fold.

I will be back soon with a Christmas card using this fold...it's so pretty.

Same Santa...but a little more Classic

Hello,

Going to make this quick. As I posted yesterday I used exactly the same stamp, ink, and copic markers to color the image.

Pattern paper is last years Basic Grey Christmas line. The ornaments are from Stampin' Up and stamped with versamark and gold embossed on the same pattern paper as the background.
Ornaments individually cut out and raised up with dimensionals.

Look at those little tiny bows. Yep...I tied them. lol

I think I'm on a roll for Christmas cards. I made another one yesterday. Still got lots to go...and I won't tell you how many days till Christmas...don't want to scare anybody.

Picked up some test tubes today....he he...want to know what I'm going to do with them?

You'll just have to keep checking back to see!

HO, HO, HO

Hi There,
Told you I was getting into the Christmas card mode. Actually I'm waiting for a Halloween cartridge to arrive to I'm making good use of my time.

The image is from Just Rite stamps and colored with copics. I have colored two images exactly the same and will show you the second image tomorrow and how using different pattern paper dramatically changes the look.

So for today the pattern paper is from Mr Frosty cartridge. Red cardstock - Stampin' Up and green - Bazzill. I could have printed all the cardstock on my Imagine but I figure why bother if I have some that will match in my stash.

The tree and sock brads are from "Spare Parts". Yellow stickles on the stars and Diamond stickles on the hat. Diamond stickles is one of my favorites. Nestabilities used to use the circles.

Aaaargh! It's a Celebration!

I love the Buchaneer cartridge. For a birthday celebration you can't go wrong. It has everything.
Let's start off with the birthday card. A side step fold. Directions can be found here.
Pirate - 3"
Ship - 3"
Parrot - 1.5"
Happy Birthday 1.5"
Gold flower soft for the pile of gold.

Now you need an invitation. I did use Base Camp for Recruiting and Old West for the Date, Time, Place. Remaining images from Buchaneer. After I cut the page out I distressed the edges so it looked worn and then added some Tim Holtz Wild Honey ink around the edges.

The invitation was designed in the Cricut Craft Room and I did a print only.

Pirate Hat, eye patch and treasure chest are 3-D items on the Buchaneer cartridge.

The hat was cut "fit to page".

Treasure chest cut at 5.4" and I could get four to a page. It makes for a pretty tiny treasure chest but you could use it as a place setting and put some candy loot into it.

Every party needs a gift bag whether it is for the guest of honor or the guests. Font from Country Carnival filled in with colors and patterns from Buchaneer. Did you know that on the Cricut Community Forum - Imagine Group - there is a file that shows all the RGB codes for the different color palletes of each Imagine cartridge. So handy.

Originally the scrapbook page was designed for another week but it fit in so well with today's post that I thought I should include it.

Good Morning,

I did mention I was trying to get some Christmas cards done. I'm still going to have to pick up the pace a bit to get enough done for Christmas.

Snowflake cuttlebug folder for the pink background. Snowman colored with copics. Pattern paper from Frosty cartridge. Ribbon - Michaels. Snowman - Just-Rite Stamps.

For some of you who know me personally we are safe from the wildfires in Texas. They are burning to the west of us right now. A guess is they are 40 or so miles away and latest report they are getting them under control.

Chili Peppers

Friday already....had a few things going on so haven't really had time to blog. I have the projects completed just don't have them uploaded. :(

This is another of those 3-dimensional House Mouse cards. I got the print from Fargo Cat Shops. Check out here on-line store...she has lots of great things.

Basically you just cut out all the pre-printed images and then layer them together.

I think on this one I tried used the silicone glue to put it together. It would have worked if the glue wouldn't have been so hard to squeeze out of the tube. Dimensionals work well too.

Table For Two

Hello There,

Hope you are all enjoying a long week-end! I'm starting this week off with a Home Decor project. I've had a table on my deck that I've been wanting to do something with and once I got started it was so much fun.

I created vinyl placements, coasters and then decorated a vase/candle holder.
Only cartridges used were Wall Decor and Imagine Blossom. All printing was done on Cricut Printable Vinyl.

I printed full sheets of vinyl in green and the pattern. When you are adhering the vinyl to the table be sure to remove the backing in small sections. This makes it easier to apply wrinkle free to your surface. You can also use a transfer tape but I rarely do that.

Used my gypsy on just the expression side so I could manipulate the image as large as possible. That was why I had to print on the vinyl first and then cut using the expression side.

If you look closely at the above photo you can see a flourish that is cut out of the design rather than it be a waste used it for decoration on the table.

Once I finished the place mat settings I thought it could use coasters. I did have coasters that I had purchased for other projects but next time you go somewhere that serves drinks they will generally give you a coaster. Heck, don't let it get wet pick it up and save it for your next crafting project. These coasters were 4" in diameter so I cut two circles from the extra green I had printed. Adhered the vinyl directly to the coaster and it will help preserve the coaster too acting as a water barrier. Cut a scalloped circle at 3.6" from pre-loaded on the Imagine and flood filled with Blossom pattern.

To put the sand in the glass jar I used a funnel. If you have no funnel roll up some paper and tape it.

There are three butterflies on the glass container.

Wall Decore - Place mats with silverware - 8.05" - pattern

Green shadow on place mats - 8.50" - I wanted a wider border.

Butterflies 1.5"

Coasters - 4" & 3.6"

Tip - Don't put your vinyl on your mat backwards. I did that with one piece and I had a big mess. The side you're supposed to print on really suck to the mat. I had to use soap and scrap it off.
