Ready, Set, Play

Hey There.  It's Friday!

I have a two page layout for you today. Of course it's featuring my favorite little person, Xavier. I took these photos when I was up visiting a couple of weeks ago. Him & I spent lots of Nana time at the park together and this is only a sampling of what's to come. lol Let's just say I filled my camera card.

Some of my best photos are taken when you don't stop to centre things or even think about composition. This picture was Xavier laying on the seat of the bus looking over the edge. Just put the camera under his face and snapped. Thank goodness for digital or I'd be so  broke.
All the paper except the red cardstock was printed from Imagine cartridge Bubblegum Stripes. The octogon shapes was from George.

Ready Set Play from Boy's Will Be Boy's.
Traffice lights from Cars. Clear epoxy circles over light colors.

Schoolbus from Designer Calendar. Windows on bus are filled in with glossy effects to make them shiny and raised.

Be sure to stop by on Monday. It will be my first official post on the Creative Critterz Imagination blog. It's going to be so much fun.

Something To Crow About!

Hi There!

Wednesday...half way through the week. Actually I kinda like the week days...I have the house all to myself. :)

I've got some exciting new to share....I made the design team for Creative Critterz Imaginations. This is a blog that features the Cricut Imagine. There will be a variety of projects so even if you don't have an Imagine there will still be lots of great ideas to spark your creative energy. I look forward to working with all the other gals. Be sure to drop by the Creative Critterz blog as they are showcasing each designer all week long.

I decided to make this card when I found out the news. The images and paper patterns are from Imagine More Cartridge. The card is 5 1/2" square. The rooster and chick are one of the images that doesn't have the layering option. However the border and the top saying are cut separtely.

The "or Tweet" was generated using the Cricut Craft Room. If you're not familiar with that it will be a FREE on-line design too that can be used with your Cricut. Like the gypsy or design studio but with a few more options. The Cricut Craft Room (CCR) is still in beta testing but it must be getting closer to release to the general population. I printed the green background and then printed my font overtop of the green. The punches used to cut and layer those words are from Stampin' Up.

Have a great rest of the week.

Fancy Frames Meets House Mouse

Good Monday!

We're having yet another hot day in Texas. It is amazing how you acclimatize to it though...Saturday we were out riding our bike and the temp on my bike computer registered 112F. Note to self...get up earlier. The only breeze you got was what you generated by riding. Today I rode in the low 90's.

Todays I posting a House Mouse project. These little mice aren't from a stamp but are pre-printed and then you cut out the layers and re-assemble with dimensionals or I'm thinking about getting some of the silicone that comes in a tube....the stuff you use when doing paper-tole. That's what this project reminded me of was paper-tole but I didn't have to figure out what to cut from each layer it was already done for me.

Pretty quick and easy. I have three other samples to do up and upon looking them over I think this was the most difficult of the four I have. Go figure...I started with the hardest. FargoCat Shops has some of  these for sale.

Now onto the frame. There is a new cartridge that came out last month called Fancy Frames. I used pattern paper and the cricut to cut out the image. Pretty easy to do.

Lots of layers.

Click image for a real close up.

I also spent part of the week-end working on a scrapbook page. Some days I'm so slow creating them. It's almost finished to tomorrow or Wednesday I should have it up.

Enjoy your Monday and do something fun for yourself.

Christmas Ornament

Good Morning,

As promised I have a Christmas Ornament today. This was super easy! Using the Imagine and Snow Angel cartridge I printed out six snowflakes, scored down the centre of each folded in half and then glued the back together. Before glueing the last section insert your ribbon or string.  Added some beads to the top and bottom. Also a little diamond stickles to the red berries. I tried tiny pearls but it made it look too heavy.

Haven't left the house yet this morning so nothing new to update on my comings and goings.

Sweet!

Hi There,

I have a post for you today and a couple others in the works. Today's card I'm also entering for a Design Team position over at Creative Critterz Imaginations. This blog is mainly about the Cricut Imagine.

At the end of the post I'll give you an update on my comings & goings!

Today's entry is almost entirely created with the Imagine. All paper has been printed with the Yummy cartridge as well as the images. The doily image or 1/2 of the image was cut using the same die as Friday's post.

Couldn't you just eat that banana sundae? Glossy Accents from Ranger was used on the ice-cream and cherry. The whipped cream was liquid applique and then warmed with the heat tool.

Added those little tassels in the top right hand corner from one of the birthday hat layers.
I changed the original colors on the "Sweet" to match the Sundae image.
Dimensionals were also used.

Didn't that doily punch out beautifully!

Hope you're still with me here - I have a little humor for you....this morning I headed out on Eva (my bike) for a nice long ride. Something I should have done is checked the weather first. I could see that it was overcast but just considered that a bonus that the sun wasn't going to be beating on me. Besides it's Houston we're in a major drought!

I get about half way around my course and "Hark, what do I hear?" Thunder. Darn...10 miles out means 10 miles back, no way around it. lol Overall I didn't get too wet...could have been much worse. However, I have learned glasses should come with windshield wipers and always carry a ziploc baggie should you want to keep a cell phone dry.

For fun this afternoon I got to go to the dentist for a root canal. Can life get any better? Oh yeah it can...I ordered a cricut cartridge on Saturday and it arrived today. Gotta love the fast shipping in the States.

Hope you're having a great day and I have a Christmas project for tomorrow.

Doily Dies

Hi There

Well I've made it back to Houston and did do a little creating yesterday.

While I was in Nova Scotia I dropped by FargoCat Shops to have a little peak. There's all sorts of neat stuff in Deborah's store and I came away with a few new things.

My first new item is Doily Dies. They are by Cheery Lynn Designs. You should watch the video on these dies. They come with great set of instructions for die cutting the image but the video is great too.

So what are these Doily Dies? A metal die that you can use in any of your die cutting machines. They are super intricate. This particular one is called English Tea Party (DL 101) and is 5" x 5". FargoCat Shops has this and smaller ones in stock (for now!). She tells me they have been flying out the door so contact her to see what is left.

So you can use it like a doily that I show here. When I first saw them all sorts of uses went through my mind. I can see using them as a stencil, only using a portion of the cut out. Doing some sort of origami folding...all sorts of possibilities.

However, for today I cut it out of pattern paper, layered two scalloped nestabilities in Not Quite Navy in the centre. Stamped my image with matching in.  Do you like my bow? Wanted it to be blue but didn't have any so I used some Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels to color it. Worked like a charm!

Heading out for another ride on Eva. Need to get this done before it really heats up here. 5 o'clock yesterday the temp was sitting at 104F and that didn't include the humidy factor which would have raised it even more.

Have a great week-end and I'll try to get a little more crafting done.

Happy Bir-day

Good Morning,

Oh my...went to do a post this morning and I see blogger has changed their format again. Not necessarily a bad thing but you have to re-learn where all the buttons are located.

This is another card I uploaded prior to leaving on vacation so I would have an occasional project to share with you. I not I haven't been posting much but that will change as I'll be back home on Monday night.

I've had a wonderful vacation but three weeks on the road.....I hear my bed calling me. lol

Hopefully I'll be sharing some of my pictures with you on scrapbook pages.

This image was a digital download from Robin's Fetish Digital Stamps. Colored with copic markers
Background paper from Costco. Sentiment stamp from Just Rite Stamps.

On vacation I also stopped by Deborah's store. She has some new stock in. House Mouse is back in stock and there are some adorable images. Great pricing as well.

I picked up a few new items that I will be showcasing in the next couple of weeks.
One I'm particularly interested in trying out is a die that cuts out a doily image. They are beautiful but I don't have the name of the company in from of me at the moment. As soon as I saw the diecut I thought of many uses for them.

Be sure to check out her site as Deborah is clearing out lots of product at vastly reduced prices.

Signing off for now and I'll post again once I'm back in Texas.
