Houston Zoo Fun

Hey Look...Friday already. Where does the week go.

It's so much fun being a grown-up sometimes...you can have dessert before supper or instead of supper! I was going to make supper at home and then we decided to go check out some stuff at the hardware store (looking at cupboards for the craftroom) and then we thought perhaps a light salad for supper and then a walk down by the waterway. We make it to the supper part but as we're wandering around deciding where we should eat I spot an ice-cream store...you can figure the rest. It was hot out and I decided ice-cream was better than a salad! Dairy product....I got chocolate...Kevin settled for some fat-free vanilla but with a waffle cone.

Well that brings us to my scrapbook page for today....Xavier at the Houston Zoo! He really did enjoy the fauna as much as looking at the animals and Grampa enjoyed packing him around.

The pattern paper is from "Safari Kids". I used one sheet and cut it in two to create the bottom of each page. I had another sheet of striped paper that matched and I cut 1" x 12" strips to place at the top. Blue and red cardstock for the base. Cricut was used to cut the titles and the Giraffe.  The frame was cut using the cartridge George & Basic Shapes and I welded the squares together before cutting. Can yo tell I like my Cricut! Leave me a comment if you own a cricut, & what you like about it!

I used a light cream color for the body of the giraffe and then distressed it with ink. Marker was used to highlight some lines on him - around face, legs & chest. My favorite part is the horns, mane and tail. I added brown flower soft. Some goggle eyes too!

The lettering I wiped Versamark pad over the cardstock and then added clear embossing powder to the words would be glossy and stand out more.
Thanks for peeking in today. My next post will probably be Monday.
I'll be featuring cards I've made for FargoCatDesigns using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
Deborah is having a class at her place on the week-end featuring Copic Markers and some House Mouse stamps. Click on the link above for details. She has some sets of Copic Markers on sale as well. Sign up for her newsletter to get the latest sales.

Have a great week-end!

This special note is for one of my good friends....

Keep It Up Ann....I know you'll reach your goal!!!!
