Spooky Mansion

Good Morning,

I'm officially into Halloween mode.  Yes, you will be seeing all sorts of spooky or not so spooky projects.

The charger plate was bought at Michaels. I bought a bunch so you will be seeing more! They were such a good deal.

Decorated the plate with vinyl.

Cartridge- Happy Hauntings - It is a super Halloween cartridge - got my dollars worth from this one!

Cuts-

House - 6"

Stars - .5 - 1"

Moon - 1.5"

Witches - 1.8" & 1.2"

Bats - .6 & 1.2"

Happy Hauntings - 1.2" on Vampire Font

 Cut the font on black vinyl, then run through a sticker maker to apply adhesive to the front of the font. Used Martha Stewart black licorice iridescent glitter used. As a hint after you run the letters through the xyron and before you take off the backing run your brayer or rolling pin over the letters to make sure all the adhesive transfer to the letter AND I also used a stylus and outlined each of the letters especially the centre of the letters. This keeps little bits of adhesive from clinging to the holes or edges of the letter.

The stars my glitter wasn't as fine. I can't remember who made it but it was like a sugar coating, so coarser.

I buy a lot of my vinyl from Oh My Crafts on line but you can also check out your local sign companies.

Keep visiting cause I have lots of more ideas on how to alter the color of that vinyl without printing it on an Imagine.

Spooky Treats

Hi There,

Glad to be back again this week. Did you see all those "tag" ideas from last week over at Creative Critterz Imagination? You're going to want to drop in for a visit all this week too. . . Goodie Bags is our theme.
I went with the test tube holder. Directions can be found here. These small test tubes purchased at a Children's Learning Store and I also bought larger ones at Michaels in the Martha Stewart section. For the larger test tube containers my cardstock was cut 4 1/2" x 12".

I printed my own batty paper on my Imagine for just one of the containers, the rest is purchased pattern paper. Can you identify the cartridges? The polka dot orange is from Bubblegum Stripes. I wanted to make the paper more Halloween so used Cricut Craft Room to place bats from Happy Hauntings onto the pattern paper.
CCR I believe is now open to everyone to try. All the bugs have not been entirely worked through yet but if you want to give it a try and are patient it can do some pretty neat stuff. I've posted a video at the end explaining how to create your paper.
Scalloped circle from Easter 2010 and I used a circle punch for the others.

This is what the piece of cardstock looked liked after I was done printing.

Still trying to get the hang of doing videos.

Christmas Tree Bling

Good Morning,

Just a little story this morning...have you heard of "Geocaching"?

 My son mentioned it to me on the week-end while I was trying to watch Xavier on Skype...just a blurr on the computer monitor as he whizzes past showing how he can kick a ball...back to topic....

Geocaching - sort of like a scavenger hunt. People hide containers and then give you  hints and co-ordinates to find them. Makes going for a walk or a bike ride a little more interesting.

A pretty quick Christmas card to make...the part that takes time is getting the design.

Luggage Tags

Good Morning,

Glad to be here to start off another week. This week our theme over at Creative Critterz Imaginaiton is "tags".
I decided to make luggage tags. (The white paper is to hide the address and phone number!)
The base for the tags is the mirror/window option on Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. All tags were cut at 4.5"
Bird tag - Paper & Bird - Lori's Garden
Butterfly tag - Pattern - Industrial Glow & Butterfly - Lori's Garden ( end of post I'll talk about caching a design.)

Dragon Tag - JT Cartridge

Both rose tags - Country Carnival

Cut out the tag and then cut a co-ordinating insert. All the little decorative images are cut anywhere between 1.2 & 1.6".

After the tag was assembled I printed the name and address out on Rub-on transfer paper applied it to the tag and then laminated it. Trimmed around the tag and punched a hole so they can be attached.

Here is my first attempt at a video. I want to show you how to cache a pattern from one cartridge and be able to use it with another Imagine cartridge. Also will show you how to change border colors.

I apologize if the camera is a little shaky...I have it in my left hand while I'm doing everything else with the right. lol This is harder to do than I thought!

After making these you could always make small ones to hang off a purse or a kids backpack. key chain . . . lots of possibilities!

Fall Is In The Air

Morning,

A bit of a fall theme today. Our temperatures have cooled slightly but no where near what many of you are experiencing for fall weather. I think we are still in the 90's. It's comfortable now.

Today's entry I used a variety of products.

Background paper printed with the Imagine.
Stamps - Retired Stampin' Up
Cuttlebug Folder - Distressed Stripes
Nestabilities - Labels
Copic Markers
Ribbon - Stampin' Up
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Dew Drops

The leaves were first stamped with Kaleidacolor ink - Pumpkin Patch and then distress with Tim Holtz Inks. Added ink to the distressed stripes too.

Adding some ink around the edges of the layers soften the looks and makes the papers blend better together.

This particular set of labels I find the layering difficult cause I don't want such a large border. I overcame that issue by adding some stitching.

The holly leaf is from Joy of the Season cartridge. Diamond Glaze overtop of the holly berries.

Made With Love

Good Morning,
I seem to be getting a backlog of projects to post. Guess that means I'm getting lots of crafty time in. The next few posts will be a combination of Halloween and Christmas. I'm having so much fun with Halloween.

Today a two-page scrapbook layout. This one was a little challenging to co-ordinate the two pages. One one side I wanted a masculine page but the other side was Xavier in the cradle with Poppy's hand on him. I think I was able to tie the two pages together.

All the tools are cut from Cricut Lite "Handyman". The silver peg board is metal and embossed with the Cuttlebug. The measuring tape down the middle came from DH's garage.

Created a work bench and then tucked this photo inside the cupboard.

Xavier was only a couple of weeks old there.
