Time to start to think about your Valentine Day cards.
I've started making a few.
If you don't have Create A Critter 2 cartridge take another look at it. It has wonderful Critter's in seasonal form as well as phrases that match and other seasonally related icons.
All cardstock is Stampin' Up except the pattern paper which is printed using Berries & Cream cartridge. Barely Banana cardstock for the heart and bee wings glittered with Dazzling Diamonds SU Glitter. Couldn't resit a little more glitter to the bee and of course the sentiment. A little ink round the bees face to make it look more rounded. The bee is on an action wobbler too which makes him even more adorable.
Like my border? Old fiskars border punch. Don't know the name but it has hearts. Created an even better border by punching the cardstock on one side and then punching along the other edge. Love the look it created. Try that with your border punches, you'll be surprised how you can create a whole new look.
The trick to having the images line up is:
1) There will be lines on the base of your punch. Pick a mark and line your cardstock with it and remember which line you used. Finish punching your border.
2) Take out your border and turn it over. Now line up the cardstock to exactly the same line you used when you punched it the first time.
3) If you did it right the design should be the mirror image, perfectly lined up. When I'm punching a border I generally like to have the strip of paper slightly longer than what will actually be needed. That way if I want to trim a little from either end I can so the design when adhered to the card looks symmetrical. Some of you are probably thinking,"Who's going to notice"? The answer, probably just me...but that's the way I am. lol
Let's finish this card off with some pink bling and rose heart eyelets. I think it is adorable.
It's Friday the sun is shining and the week-end is just around the corner.
Happy Day!
Yvonne
