Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween !

My day for posting over at Creative Critterz Imaginations. If you haven't been by for a visit it is worth the click as there were some fantastic projects from the design team this month. We are officially done with Halloween and moving along to FALL. This week - "Any Fall Project".
I went super simple this week.
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - Cut the box feature on blackout at 5 1/2". If you made it slightly smaller you would be able to get two to a piece of 8 1/2 x 11. Let's just say - I wasn't thinking when I started out.
The red square and the letters are from Country Carnival.
All the edges of the box and the red square were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Pumice. Also stitching added around the square.
I did seal the boxes but when I make a Christmas set I may place candy or something else inside to make the boxes heavy so they are more stable. I might consider taping them together so my DH will quit re-arranging the letters. lol

Spent Sunday at the Texas Renaissance Festival. Were there ever some amazing costumers. DH took lots of pictures. Perhaps this week I'll share a few of those.
Enjoy your week and be sure to come back and visit each day for more ideas.

Treat Boxes

Good Morning Fellow Crafters,

Sharing a second  purple, orange, green and black project today over at Creative Critterz Imaginations.

I purchased Happy Haunting this year for Halloween and it is perhaps the cartridge I have used the most or used so many of the cuts on it.

These are all 3-d projects that are loaded onto the cartridge. Simply cut and assemble.
I think my favorite was the coffin. It was cut on grey cardstock and then sponged white and black ink onto it. Gave it kind of a marble look.
The faces on these pumpkins are so cute. There is also another face that is more girly.
The pumpkin on the right was printed on orange cardstock with the pattern from Bubblegum Stripes overtop. The one on the left was white cardstock. The orange cardstock was from Stampin Up and I find the Imagine will print on it but doesn't want to feed back in to cut the image. I've tried it a few times and have gotten the same results. I don't know if the cardstock is too stiff or thick? Anybody else have a problem?
The spider....he gave me the most problem. Had I been cutting on colored cardstock I would have been okay but I was flood filling the images. You have to cut the legs twice otherwise when you go to assemble half of the legs will show purple and half will be white.
Assembly was also a little trickery but after you made one you would have it down to a science.
Hope you have enjoyed all the spooky projects this month. This is my last unless I get some good Halloween pictures of little Xavier and then I'll be doing a Halloween layout.

Holiday Greeting

Hello,

Sharing a Christmas card today.

The embellishments are made from Grungeboard. The key was in a Tim Holtz package but the holly leaf and key hole were cut with the Cricut. All three pieces were embossed with Platinum embossing powder and antique silver pearl ex rubbed over the high area.
The image stamped with Tim Holtz Fired Brick and distressed with Tim Holtz - Old Paper. The ribbon was ivory and it was dyed with the Old Paper ink pad to match.  Ribbon was from my Walmart stash and the pattern paper - Hobby Lobby.

Cartridges Used
Joys of the Season
Sentimentals

I will have one more Halloween project tomorrow and then I am officially done with Halloween. I'm working on some Fall and Thanksgiving projects.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Halloween Candle

Hello There Crafters,
Here we are back for another week of crafty fun. There were lots of great cards last weekat Creative Critterz Imagination and this week I'm sure you're going to see a real variety of projects as our project can be anything but MUST include the colors: purple, green, orange, black.

I used Happy Hauntings and my Imagine to decorate the candle. I didn't get the video made but have included lots of pictures so hopefully you will be able to give it a try.
The candle just a regular 6" pillar from the Dollar Store. Printed my images onto tissue paper using the Imagine and then melted the tissue paper into the candle with a heat gun.
I used the Cricut Craftroom to color and layer my images. You will notice I have it set to print only and all layers on one page.
Take tissue paper and iron it to remove wrinkles. Also choose tissue paper that is the same or close to the same color as the candle. Try to have a mat that isn't too sticky or you won't be able to lift the tissue paper off after you have printed on it.
Remember I only printed and did not cut the images.
Cut out the images by hand. Notice I left a border around the images.
Use a small amount of 2-way glue on the back of the image so it will stick to the candle. Only needs to be enough for the image to stay in place.
Next take a piece of wax paper and wrap it TIGHTLY around your candle and tape in place.
Using your heat tool direct the heat towards the images. It's doesn't take long to melt the printed image into the candle. You will actually see the tissue paper disappear. As soon as that happens stop heating the image. It will not take long. Once you've heated all of the images remove the wax paper and discard. Don't try and use the same piece more than once.
If you don't have an Imagine you can also stamp your images on the tissue paper and it will work the same way.
Click here for a video tutorial. It features stamping but the steps are the same.
Once the candle burns a hole down into the centre you might want to put a tea light into it. It will reduce the fire hazard and also save your beautiful candle.

I'll also be entering this in the Cricut Circut Weekly Challenge.
Enjoy your day!

Thinking Outside the Box....

Hello Crafters,

I wanted to create a Halloween card that wasn't quite so traditional. One you might give to someone special!

The entire project was designed on the Cricut Craftroom. It makes it so easy to see how everything will fit together and also to make sure your sizing works.

I started with the square card feature from Life's A Beach at 5 1/2". The two black squares from George and Basic Shapes. Trick or Treat and Boo are from Happy Hauntings.

Bubblegum Stripes for the pattern paper and colors.
I find CCR is working quite well for me. I print and cut only one or two items at a time though. If I try to print and cut all the images at one time it seems to overload the memory and it will print but not cut anything. This is my way to work around it.
The BOO hides in behind the bikini top.
Thanks for visiting!

Also entering this card in the Creative Time Challenge.

Lil' Helper!

Morning,

Finally got around to getting a scrapbook page done. It went together quite quickly.

All paper and printed using Kates Kitchen Imagine cartridge. With the exception of the banner all images are also from Kates Kitchen. Base Camp might have been the font.
These pictures were taken when I was visiting Xavier this summer.
We had a great time baking. If you click on the journalling in the last picture you can read
all about it.
The banner image was from Yummy cartridge and I changed out the colors.
The little flower in the centre of each was part of the oven mitt image on Kate's Kitchen.
Also used those clear epoxy circles over the top of the circles.
Thanks for taking the time in your day to visit with me.

Stop by tomorrow and I promise you a laugh!
I'll just say, "I was thinking outside of the box on this one"!

Beware

Happy Monday Crafters,

What's in store for you this weekover at Creative Critterz Imaginations? Lots of cards. Yep. . . that's our theme for the week. . . Halloween Cards. Here on my blog I'll be posting a scrapbook page and some non-Halloween cards.

I combined stamps, cricut and cuttlebug all into one.
Swiss dots embossed on the orange paper and then lightly inked with Tim Holtz Pumice Distress Ink. The edge of the green cardstock was also inked.
Web - 4" - Paper Doll Dress-up Spider under web -
Paper Doll Dress-up (not sure of the size)
Spider on right side - 1.9" Designer Calendar
Beware - .7" Happy Hauntings
Black spiky border - .9" Elegant Edges
Striped Pattern - Imagine - Bubblegum Stripes
Stamp - Block Art -Give Candy
Copics
Spellbinders for image and green layer.
Pearls for spider eyes & black glitter
Black embossed the spider web. The spiders cut and then used two-way glue and added black glitter.
If you've never colored with copics you should give it a try. They really are amazing.

Hope your week starts out good. I plan on putting some Mums into the flower beds. I still can't get used to going to plant stores in October to actually put flowers outside. More used to scrapping the ice off the windshield. Not complaining though!

Looking Through The Window

Hello,

I'm still working on entering into some cricut challenges so I took a break from Halloween projects and slipped in a Christmas Card.

The challenge was to use any cricut cartridge that was a circle exclusive and it must have at least two cricut cuts.

I choose French Manor for the exclusive cartridge. The cut from is the window/frame. The tree/presents/snowflake and pattern paper are from Snow Angel.  It took me awhile to get everything lined up as I had to get the cut in the correct place on two pieces of paper.
Added some stickles to blue dots on tree. The lighting isn't great but the inside paper is a light blue.
So there is the main card base that is black and then an insert as well for the tree to be mounted on.
By the end of the week I will have all my challenge posts completed. Hping to get started on a scrapbook page soon. It's been too long.

Enjoy your day.

Paris

Good Day!

Actually for me it is an AWESOME DAY!  Many good things are happening.
I made this card cause I might get to go to Paris in November......keeping my fingers crossed.

I also was recognized this week in the CRICUT CHIRP newsletter  for my Spooky Mansion Charger plate. Last time it was for all those vinyl/magnetic robots I made for Xavier. If you're a cricut user or not you might enjoy the cricut forum.  There are lots of great projects to view!

Welcome to all my new subscribers/followers. Glad you've joined my site.
Onto today's card.....I'm entering this one in the Cricut Circle Recipe Challenge. You have to include at least two cricut cuts, three buttons, and title.

All the cuts from French Manor. Background pattern - Thersa Collins Black & White cartridge.
Applied two-way glue to the words, and images and then applied glitter. The pink brads I applied a little glossy accents and then dipped in pink glitter so they would match.
The entire project I designed first on Cricut Craftroom. It allows me to size everything before I start to cut  and I can also add color so I get a pretty good idea what it will look like before it is even made. I believe you can download the program for your computer now and it is free. Even if you don't use it yet to cut it's great just as a designing too. I did find I couldn't cut all the layers at one time. I had to cut the pieces individually other wise the program would be print everything at once, which was good but then it wouldn't cut any of it.
Love your comments and if you have questions ask those too!

Have a great Wednesday!

A Wine Glass or Two...

Morning,

This is the other "Boo" basket that I made. This one has a more adult theme.  I included a couple of wine glasses and some frozen alcohol beverages as well as some tasty oatcakes and candy.
The Happy Halloween was stamped and embossed in black. The cat and frame cut from black cardstock using Happy Haunting cartridge then clear embossed so they are shiny.
Another Halloween plate.
It's hard to see but the glasses are etched with the initials of the people I was giving the basket to.
It's an "L" & "M".  Vampire font from Happy Hauntings.

Pretty easy to do...cut the letter out of vinyl but discard the letter and use the negative image. Adhere to glass and apply the etching paste. Let it sit about five minutes and then rinse clean.
That's all for today.

Enjoy.

Let's Go Boo-ing!

Hi There,
The is my Boo-ing basket I designed for my weekly post over at Creative Critterz Imaginations.

What is "Boo-ing"?
It starts the 1st of October and continues up until the 30th of October. You make a small treat (a bag of candy, cookies, whatever you want) attach the poem and Boo-ing directions and leave it on a friend's or neighbor's doorstep at night and ring the bell before making a quick get away.
It's fun to see how many neighbors have "Boo" signs on their door or windows. Once it gets started it spreads quickly.
I started it in my neighhood last year as it was a new subdivision and it was a lot of fun! I have a lot of crafty time so I make most of the items for my basket but you can certainly get goodies from a dollar store too!
The "BOO" sign the recipent will post on their front door.
Printed and cut using CCR.
Black container from Michaels. Vinyl letters - Happy Hauntings 2.5" Glitter applied over vinyl.
Vinyl on glasses - Happy Hauntings - all characters 4". Inside the glasses I put a juice pouch. the cups you saw in an earlier post.
Charger Plate from Michaels. You saw one last week and I have one more to share yet!
Also entering the plate in the monthly Cricut Circle Blog Challenge,
Happy Hauntings Cartridge
Tree - 6"
Stars - .5 - 1"
Ghosts - 2"
Bats - 1.2"
Happy Halloween - 1.2"
Tag from Tags, Bags, & More- 4.5"
Snapshot - Nature pattern cartridge
Attached this to the side of the basket.
This is the poem I put inside the Halloween card.
The air is cool, the season Fall
Soon Halloween will come to all
Your friends are after things to do
In fact, a friend brought this to you
On your front door is where it hangs
It wards off Winter’s icy pangs
The things that came with coupled note
Are yours to keep, enjoy them both
The fun begins when Friends like you
Will copy this and make it TWO
The others here among our friends
Will give Halloween treats that will not end
Don’t forget a nifty treat
Like something cute or something sweet
Please join the fun, let’s really hear it

And spread some Halloween spirit!
The card I stamped and embossed - no cricut cuts.
Also included some of the test tube treat holders I posted here last week and some Halloween cookies.
Tuesday I'll be sharing another Boo Basket but with an older theme.....
So, what are you waiting for...get out there and "BOO" somebody!

Wishing You....

Wishing ALL my Canadian friends and family a Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm taking a break from posting my Halloween projects to slip in a Christmas card.  This is for the Cricut Circle Challenge Blog. Had to use my Imagine with pattern paper & layered images.

Snow Angel cartridge for everything except the stars and that was from Joys of the Season. The sentiment from Stampin' UP.  I posted this style of fancy fold card last month so if you're looking for directions or another sample click here.
Glossy effects on the apples. Dimensionals for the layers.
Yello stickles on the stars and Diamond Stickles on roof top.
Giving you a look at how the layers go together. The windows and shutters are all separate pieces. I do enjoy fiddly things. lol
Be sure to visit tomorrow as I have an extra-special spooky treat.
On a positive note it's been raining here all day...we so need it.

I'll Have A Cup

Hi There,

I'm on a roll posting this week...gotta get some of these up to co-ordinate with next Monday's post. Got your interest now...don't I? lol You'll have to wait!

These cups are also decorated with vinyl. Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge - all cut at 4".Cups from Target at $1.00 each.

Cricut vinyl is supposed to be able to withstand washing and they even say dishwasher safe. I've never tried so I don't know.

Do you like the green on Frankensteins face? All I had was mint green vinyl so I altered it with my copic markers. Worked like a charm.
Are you getting in the Halloween spirit yet? Come on, give it a go.

Three Little Pumpkins Sitting On The Stoop!

Hi There...It's Wednesday and you're halfway through the week!

My pumpkins are from Michaels. They are the ones you can actually carve too but I just went for the vinyl look. Wanted to mention if you don't have vinyl think about contact paper that you would use in kitchen cupboards...just make sure you test it so if you want to remove it from something you can....say a wall.

Happy Hauntings is the cricut cartridge.
Witch - 6"
Cat - 5"
Not sure on the sizing for the face on the little pumpkin and the vines are from Cindy Lou cartridge.
My house is starting to look festive. BTW the other side of the pumpkins are still blank - I can just turn them around after Halloween or I could add some fall/Thanksgiving images to them. That's one advantage to Thanksgiving in the US fall seems to last longer. To all my Canadian friends I know you'll be eating Turkey this week-end. Enjoy!

Must get back to creating....need to do a scrapbook page or two. I've been doing all cards and 3-d items.

See you soon....

Yvonne
