Dashing Through The Snow

Hi There,

I know winter still isn't over in some parts of the country although I'm glad I don't have any snow. I've had my share of the white stuff and will have more opportunities to live in it in my future.

Daddy & Xavier are out enjoying some sledding time. Apparently Xavier doesn't enjoy speed, yet!
Blue cardstock for the background. The snowflakes paper was purchased.
The word snow was cut using Speaking of Winter.  The white letters were glittered as well as the tops of the torn white paper. The brads that are in the centre of some of the snowflakes were covered in glossy accents and then glitter applied.

Animal Antics for the lettering. Art Philosophy for the banners. Using the text mode on CCR I typed the words and sized them to fit on the yellow banner ( I did this using two separate layers). With the gel pen inserted in the cricut  I drew the lettering on the cardstock. I DID NOT unload the paper afterwards. Because I had positioned the words overtop of the yellow banner I changed out the gel pen for the blade housing and then cut the yellow layer.
Joys of the Season for the sleigh and mittens cut. The snowball created using puffy paint.
The negative cut from the red banners used on the page.
Can't seem to find the cartridge I cut the snowflakes from, however they were covered in glitter and the printed on Grafix Rub-Onz for the journalling.

Even though this is a wintery page I'm wishing everyone a Happy Easter.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

Just wanted to pop in and wish everybody a Happy Easter!

I haven't had very many posts this month as I was away. Hope to get back on track next month.

The chick was cut from Create A Critter 2, which is one of my favorite cartridges. I glittered the egg shell/lettering and used flock on the chick. Nestabilities for the circles and Swiss Dot cuttlebug folder. The ribbon is still from my Stampin' Up days and it's been retired for quite awhile.
This little guy is on an action wobbler too! :)
Happy Hunting for those eggs!

Soccer Card

HI There,

My card today is for one of my Great Nephews. His birthday was on the 5th...I didn't forget it but I didn't get my card done either. I was having trouble coming up with an idea. They're getting older so I have to keep coming up with new ideas.

Sports Mania cartridge is where the images for the soccer ball, soccer jersey, and the inside of the card too. Jersey was cut at 3 1/2" and the ball at 2.25". The inside was 5.25 square.
The pennant is from Everyday Paper Dolls. The image did not some with a shadow so I cut one at 1.3" and one at 1.45". On the smaller pennant I cut off the tabs on the left.

The background printed from Industrial Glow cartridge.
The shirt and pennant were inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint.
Cheers To You - Stampin' Up Stamp
The lettering on the jersey done with Grafix Rub-ons.
Soccer ball was cut then inked with versamark and embossed with clear powder three times to give it a nice glossy look.
I must say this was probably one of the quickest cards I've made from beginning to end. I did all my designing on CCR to get a good idea for the sizing of the individual pieces.

That's all I've got for today .... but I do have two scrapbook pages ready to post and an Easter card...so stay tuned.

Vertical Stair Step Card

Hi There,

Thanks Marlene for sending me the link to this style of card. The template can be found here.

I must admit I am  challenged when I look at a template on a piece of paper. I do much better if I can use my ruler and take dimensions off of the real thing. When it's on paper I can't visualize it folded. Needless to say I was making the cutting and calculations way more difficult than it needed to be.

The flower is from Heartfelt Creations and colored with Copic Markers. The flower was colored and cut out a second time and then glossy accents applied. Nestabilities to cut the circles and ovals.
Butterfly from one of the new Creative Card cartridges just released from provocraft. No....I didn't buy it...there was a freebie for a week on Cricut Craftroom and that was when I used it! I did add a little ink around the edges of the butterfly and then some pearls for the body.
I should try making up a couple more of these before I forget how!
Challenges:
Melinda's Paper Crafting  - Anything with wings.
Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes
Happy Campers - Use your Favorite stamp

The week-end is here....I don't have any plans yet but that will probably change.
