Dude!

Hi There,

This card I made a few weeks back. It was for my nephew birthday this week. I suspect he might not have it yet as I didn't get it in the mail till last week. :(

All images and pattern paper from JT Art Cartridge. I had take some more picture to show how everything was layered but they are a bit blurry and I don't have the card any longer.
Black dew drops to fill the empty spaces and balance the card.

I'll be back tomorrow to post my sons birthday card.

See you then!

And Then....WE were 3

Good Morning,

Here we are again. It is my turn to post over at Creativer Critterz Imaginations. This week we have free reigh on what we wanted to make. Of course I decided on a scrapbook page.

Don't you just love the shoe picture. I've taught my children well...Adam thought taking a picture of their shoes lined up would make a good scrapbook page. And he was right!
All paper is printed with the Imagine using Bubblegum Stripes. I think it is one of my favorite cartridges as the colors are bright and good for children pages.
The running shoe is from Boys Will Be Boys. There are such good detail in the layers on those images. Just look at those laces.

Base Camp cartridges used for the font and the tag. The brackets were from Blackletter.
Buttons helped to tie things together.
I totally enjoyed making this page and it went together super quick which is unusual for me.

I've got some other great projects to share this week so see you soon.

In the meantime if you need more inspirations check out Creative Critterz Imagination.

Cardinal

Hi There,

Nothing to exciting to share with you today. Just a pretty simple Christmas card.

Tim Holtz inks to color the bird and alter the pattern paper as well as the image and sentiment.  Using ink the subtly change the color of my paper is probably one of my favorite techniques.
The stamps are from Stampin' Up and the pattern paper from Hobby Lobby.

Hope everyone on the east coast are safe. Only thing happening here in Houston is  the hurricane on the east coast is impacting the direction of the wind so we are going to get some of the heat from Dallas. We are supposed to reach 110F today.

About three days ago we actually got a little rain. Everyone on the block was outside watching the rain come down.  lol

I will see you tomorrow morning with my Monday post for Creative Critterz Imaginations.

Just One More....

Morning,

Okay just one more using the Cheery Lynn Design dies.   I'm using metal with them this time.

FargoCat Shops had some in, if you don't see what you want give Deborah a call.

The metal I used was gold premium craft foil. Mine came in a roll but at craft stores you can buy it in individual sheets too. BTW mine is gold on one side and silver on the other. I used the die in my cuttlebug, just make sure you pass it through a few times and rotate to make sure it's being cut evenly.

Now this is the fun part. You can use your Tim Hotlz alcohol inks on the metal. In this project I used Wild Plum, Butterscotch and Lettuce on the silver side of the metal. Click picture for close-up.

The image is from Stampin' UP and the sentiment is from Just-Rite Stamps. Both were stamped on white cardstock and then altered with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade were the colors used. I also used those inks to alter the cardstock so it would be a closer match. Don't be afraid to use those inks it can mean less stress trying to match cardstock colors to your project.
How did I get a round card you ask? Even if you didn't I'll tell you...Using Elegant Edges cartridge I choose a scalloped circle. On my Gypsy or if you have design studio I welded the two shapes together and cut out.
I wanted the pattern paper to cover the entire front of the card so I unwelded the images and cut out one circle in the same size which was 5.5".
Of course I wanted another layer so I increased the size of the circle to 5.75" and cut out of the red cardstock and attached to the back of the card.

If you have any questions about this process please just ask. Be sure to leave your e-mail so I can get back to you.

Thanks for looking.

You're Invited....

Good Morning!
This week our theme is backyard cookouts over at Creative Critterz Imaginations. I'm sure you are going to see lots of different ideas so make sure to check back each day for a new designer reveal!

I thought this challenge was going to be easy but I had so many ideas I had trouble sticking to just one. Guess that means I have to save those ideas for another time.... I decided on flip flops for my invitation.

Flip flops from Lifes a Beach at 8"
Flood filled with Bubblegum Stripes. I love the bold colors in this cartridge.
A pair of flip flops isn't complete without a flower accent.
Flower Shoppe cut at 2".
Each flower had five layers so they were full looking.
Inked the edge of the flower centre and flip flops with Tim Holtz Crushed Olive and
the flowers and straps inked with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick.
A pretty pink brad for the centre of the flowers and a green brad on the bottom to hold the flop flops together.
Graftix Rub-onz for the wording.
These were created using the Cricut Craft Room but you can do this right on your Imagine. I wanted to have a bigger screen shot to show you.

Everybody's summer vacation must be wrapping up. Kids here start school today.
See you later this week.

Vinyl on Water Bottle

Morning,

Just a quick little project today.

I used printable vinyl to decorate this water bottle. It's for a girlfriend for her birthday. She's into fitness but enjoys shopping...a lot!
The front of the bottle I used Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge for the doily circle and small flowers.

The "A" and the back of the bottle was Wall Decor.

I liked the saying, "I'd Rather Be Shopping".

The shoes are a little hard to see but cute. Click picture for a better view.

I'll see you on Monday with another project.

Cherry Lynn Dies Meet Vinyl

Hello There,

Today I'm here to share with you how you can get more mileage out of your Cherry Lynn Dies.

This die is English Tea Party DL 101 from Cherry Lynn Designs. The snowflake is from Just-Rite stamps.  The picture doesn't do it justice but it is all gold embossed. The embossing powder actually sparkles. You can find all of the above products over at FargoCat Shops. Click the image to see the sparkle.
To see how I was able to emboss the image please continue reading.
I cut the doily out of cricut vinyl. Contact paper would probably work. The vinyl works well cause it can be easily re-positioned...meaning I can stick it to my paper and then lift it back up when I'm done. So basically I'm creating a mask.
Here I've laid the mask over white cardstock and spritzed it with Glimmer Mist.
Because it adheres tightly to the paper the liquid doesn't seep underneath.
You can see my doily image after I removed the vinyl.
Next I tried it using a brayer and ink. Worked well.
You can use this mask over and over. Just wipe the top of it clean.
This time I used an ink dauber. Rubbed white ink over the vinyl mask.
I did this same technique with the card except I used versamark so I could gold emboss the image.

Need to get a start on some of those Christmas cards.

Book Worm

Good Morning,

Our challenge this week at Creative Critterz Imaginations was to create a back to school bookmark.

Cartridges Used:
Imagine - Blast Off for all pattern paper
Create a Critter - worm 2"
My Community - Book 1.1"

Tutorial on book mark can be found here.

Spent the week-end away. Went to Galveston and then on into Louisiana. Didn't make it as far as Baton Rouge but did go on a swamp tour. Only saw one alligator...too hot for them to come out. After the tour had some local food fare. Yum.

He was just a little alligator

Lunch
catfish, shrimp, craw fish & alligator
All very good I might add.

Have lots I must get done this week. I do have another project planned to share in a couple of days.

Some Like It Hot...

Hi There,

This card was inspired by the heat down here these days! I admit I like it hot but even this is getting a little warm! My pool is like a bathtub...even when you take a shower the water in the holding tanks has warmed up so you never get cold water. lol It will pass.
This is a House Mouse stamp colored with copic markers. If you're looking for some new House Mouse stamps FargoCat Shops does have  new stock in.

The stamps are retired and from Stampin' Up.
I liked the tiny pearl on the thongs. I love bling.
Thanks all I've got for today - just something cute and simple.

All About Me!

Good Morning!

Back at the start of a new week. Sure hope you had the opportunity to visit Creative Critterz Imaginations Blog all last week and see the Cute Critter cards and they were CUTE and most of the posts had great videos as well. I'm lacking in that area but will look into the possibility of doing a video in the meantime you will have to put up with my still shots.
Our task this week was to scrapbook a page about ourselves. I love to scrapbook but not about me! It took me most of the week to do get it done...not because I didn't have an idea  but had too many ideas. lol
My first thought when this challenge was posted was there are a lot of different things in my life that influences who I am. That's where the puzzle idea came in. There's an app at the site Big Huge Labs that lets you turn any picture into a jigsaw puzzle.
To make the puzzle mat the Gypsy was called on to weld together puzzle pieces together from
"My Community" cartridge. All the individual puzzle pieces where cut on the silhouette feature from this cartridge at 1.7".

As the journalling is small I wanted you to be able to see it.
The two flowers are from Flower Shoppe cut at 2" & 1.5". What you see here is my first two attempts at the flowers from this cartridge. Second one went together easier.
This is what it looks like when it has been printed and cut with the Imagine. The blue flower I changed out for a green one!

I like to distress the paper a little with ink.
Don't forget to shape the flowers a little.
Glueing them together Glossy Accents by Ranger. Any quick drying glue will work.

Cartridges used - Blossom - all the pattern paper
                          - Country Carnival - for the title and substituted Blossom colors
                          - Home Decor - swirl under "Me" - 1.1"
                          - Flower Shoppe
Other items
Grafix Rub - Onz Transfer Film
Dimensionals
Brads

Thanks for stopping by...I always enjoy the visit.

BBQ Time

Good Morning

I've had a busy week. Took me longer to get ready for my post tomorrow than it should have, but I can't ell you anything more about that until Monday. Also DH has had the week off so crafting time has been a little less.

This card is pretty simply. All the images are from a product called Dazzles. The images are a black vinyl in this case (they also come in other colors) you simply peel them off of the sheet and place on colored cardstock or on why and color in then cut out. The anta and the words BBQ were placed directly onto the card and the rest were colored with copic markers.
If you've ever used a product called Peel-offs this is very similiar.

I don't believe Fargocat Shops has any of this in stock but after CHA I do believer there are some new peel-offs enroute. I also just popped over to Deborah's blog....oh my...there's some yummy eye candy there showcasing some of the new product that should be arriving any day!

See you tomorrow for my Monday share.

Paws-atively Precious!

Happy Monday Morning!

The week is off to a particularly good start...this is my first official post for the Creative Critterz Imagination blog  and I'm very exciting to be working with such a great group of ladies. Every Monday I'll be posting my project featuring the Cricut Imagine. There will be a variety of themes to get your creative juices flowing.

Our first theme is " Critter Cuteness Cards."

I had a lot of fun with this card and even tried out a different product in my Imagine....more about that later.

The pattern paper and images are from Best Friends. The chair I choose to omit the first layer and I added the cat image to the chair. I switched up the sweater color for a better match and changed the border coloring to brown and .2 thickness.
Chair 3"
Cat 1 1/2"

The base size of the card 5 1/2 x 11 and directions can be found at Splitcoast Stampers.

Many of the patterns on the Imagine cartridges have a distressed look to them and if you print a sheet, and cut it you don't get even coloring all around the edges. To even out the look I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen on the edges.

Swiss Dots embossing folder for background. For matching ribbon I spritzed Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist over Ivory ribbon. Black micro pen for stitching around card and dew drops for embellishments.

Now for the good part....the saying "paws-atively precious" was made with the Imagine and Grafix Rub-Onz Transfer Film. I did the designing in the Cricut Craft Room using Jasmine font at .5. This transfer film is great for journalling (I don't like my handwriting), sentiments or verses for cards or actual images. Basically you are creating a rub-on with this product. The product comes with clear directions and is easy to use.

Be sure to check in each day this week as the rest of the design team showcases their projects. I'm sure you're in for some great eye candy!
