All Occassion Card

Hi There,
Just getting ready to head out. I've got a 15 hours plane ride, 8 hour layover and then another 7 hour flight. I-pad charged for reading and a spare paperback! Don't know if I'll get to post while I'm away.

Image is Stampin' UP and colored with copics. Added some triangular cuts to break up the solid look of the background paper.

If I get a chance to I'll post some photos of vacation.

Halloween Cards

Good Morning,

 

I seem to be having a hard time these days posting regularly.  Even though I haven't posted I have been busy.

 

I've met a new group of ladies who stamp and was invited to stamp with them each Wednesday. Sometimes one of us teach the class and other times we work on our own projects. They also do cards for a Veteran's hospital when there is a special holiday in the month. So this month we were doing Halloween cards. All the cards are 4 x 4. I did four or five cards of each design. Most of the pattern paper was purchased from a package at Target for $1.00. It held 5 or 6 sheets.

 

The pumpkin face and pumpkin pattern paper were printed and cut with the Imagine. The skull head is a cricut die too but I clear embossed it to make it glossy. I couldn't get my crop tool to work properly this morning to make the pictures bigger. Just click on the image and you should be able to get a close up.

I have my Halloween decorations out but won't be making any more this year as I'm heading off on vacation next week. I'm going to accompany my DH to Malaysia. He's working and I'm touring. Not looking forward to the flight. It's 30 hours. Nine of that is a layover in Dubai. Better have a couple of good books with me.

 

The rest of my plans for today include getting out for a bike ride and going to the post office. I have a couple things I need to send to Xavier and Korben. I better hurry before Korben outgrows the outfit. Maybe I'll get Steph to take pictures of the boys in their new duds and then I can post them. All I'll say for now is they will make interesting scrapbooking pages. (I know Steph reads this...she will be so wondering what I've found this time!). he he

Corn Fed

Good Morning,

Here's Xavier a little more than a year ago having his first go at a cob of corn. Initially he didn't realize picking it up with your hands was okay!

I crimped the long strip of cardstock and used a Stampin' UP punch to place the words on.

Inked the die cut pieces.

Love the look of his little mouth.

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I'm part of a new blog that shows Cricut projects everyday. I design on the 30th of each month. The new blog is Cricut FANatics. Be sure to stop by for a visit.

Today I'd like to share a home decor project and a some little book marks. The book marks follow the monthly theme of end of summer/back to school.

This wall hanging is for my newest Grandson for Christmas. I started with a white canvas 14x20. Painted the background a very light blue and then created a frame look with a darker blue.

The letters are from the Planting SchoolBook cartridge and are between 1.75" and 2.5".Each letter was faux stitched with a black pen. Zooballo was used for the animals and were sized accordingly to the letter. I used CCR to design and cut everything with my Imagine and all images were printed using Bubblegum Stripes.

Black pearls were added to each animal and additional embellishments of dew drops and ribbon were added. Xyron machine used for adhesive.

The cute little characters are Page Pals from the Cricut Craftroom and are available digitally. They were quick to make. They were all cut at 4". Industrial Glow was used for the printing of the paper.

Clean, Quick, Simple

Morning,

I really can't figure out where all my time goes...although I did do a 40 mile bike ride on Wednesday.

I am working on a couple of large projects that should be ready to share soon. What I will tell you is I used to do a lot of tole painting and ruined more clothes than I care to remember...well I'm I still seem to have a problem keeping all the paint either on the brush or the project!

So I thought I should say "Hello" seeing how it's been so long. All products on the card are Stampin' UP. The flower is simply stamped, then punched out and layered.

Back to my painting.....whatever happened to that apron I used to wear while painting....the one that could stand alone....so much paint on it, it had become stiff.

So Tiny!

Morning Crafters!

I have another scrapbook page of Korben to share.

Baby's are so tiny and perfect and can MELT the heart of anybody.

The photos here are of Korben's hand with Xavier, then Daddy, and Poppy.

The poem reads:

When those tiny fingers curl

So sweetly around your own,

You'll feel some of the deepest joy

That you've ever known

Because it doesn't take so long

To understand how much

Your whole life can be transfermed

By a gently baby's touch

A shot of Korben's tiny feet and comparing it to Daddy's- big toe!

This poem reads:

Someday I'll jump through puddles,

Take a stroll or run a race.

Someday I'll walk across the street,

Or maybe walk in space,

Someday I'll scale a mountain,

Or I'll join a ballet corps.

Someday I'll walk a tightrope,

Or explore the ocean floor.

Someday these feet will do some things,

That only Heaven knows,

But for today they're happy

Just to wiggle all their toes.

The triangles cut with Art Philosophy cartridge. Cartstock and chipboard. Co-ordinations cardstock used, embossed with swiss dots cartridge, then sanded and finally inked. The poems were printed on vellum, then layed over the purple cardstock and a scalloped grey mat underneath. Lettering on Korben Sizzlets Dies used.

I'm trying to head out for a bike ride but checking to see if my tire is holding air. There will be a longer story if I get out on the rode and get a flat again.

Back To Basics

Good Morning!

All the kids should be back in school by now....must be crafting time.

This card is using a really old technique. I stamped the flower with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Using  pink ink and an ink dauber I gently rubbed ink over the embossed image. I started in the centre and worked my way out...gradually lightening. The embossing powder resist the ink. You can always take a tissue and gently rub over the embossed area to remove any ink.

Layer the card up a couple of times and you've got a great card!

I really must get back to crafting...I haven't done much at all in August.
