Take Me Away!

Good Morning...

WOW...what a week-end. Sunday was the launch of Deborah's online store FargoCatShops. There are great prizes and give-a-ways. If you haven't entered yet please check out the May 2 posts on both my blog and her's for all the details. Thanks to all who have left comments - they are appreciated! :)

Moving right along to today's card. I love it! Let's start with the background. The green bazzill cardstock is actually embossed with leaves. Yes, that's the way it comes. I haven't tried sanding it yet but I will....and I'll share my finding with you.

The House Mouse stamp is called "Butterfly Express". The words "Take me Away!" are a rub-on. You make them yourself on your computer. They are done with a product called "Rub-onz". I have used them before and have found they work great. It's as simple as typing on your word program, printing it on your printer and them rubbing the words onto your cardstock. You can also do images...anything that you can print!

Around the edges of the white cardstock I added some Tim Holtz distress inks. The colors used were Peeled Paint and Stormy Sky. (Next Monday I'll be sharing some of the things I've learned with the distress inks. In the meantime I used copic markers to color in the images. (RV10, Y02, Y11, C3, C5, E21, E31, E33 & colorless blender) Of course I couldn't resist some glitter on the butterfly. You'll notice I also used another leafy stamp on the bottom edge just to give the illusion that the little mouse was up in the air!
Nestabilities were used for the scallop edge and pop-ups were added for dimension.

Do you see the decorative borders? They are called Bazzill - Half the edge cardstock strips. They are 6" long. There are 20 pieces in a package and 10 different designs. So perfect for cards or you can put two together for a 12 x 12 scrapbook page. I used two on this card and placed a black strip of cardstock behind them.

National Scrapbooking Day

May 1st - National Scrapbooking Day - suppose I should be sharing a scrapbook page instead of a card but I'm working on the scrapbook page so it's going to have to be a card.

So a springy butterfly card it is. Another card from a card class I went to. I love the colors...makes me think summer. The butterfly in on vellum paper but the paper was stamped and embossed first with a background stamp and then the butterfly was cut from a die. The four colors in the background are just squares with one corner rounded.

Just want to mention that Sketches (by Tamara) and celebrating National Scrapbooking Day and they will be having challenges and sketches going on all day. If you're looking for some inspiration check them out. Tuesday will be my first official post for her blog.

My Bonnett!

Good Morning,

Actually I'm just getting this posted just barely in the morning...for many of you it's already the afternoon.

Another project with Stampin' Up products. They have a corner punch and a border punch that co-ordinate together. I must admit I'm working on getting the hang of the corner punch. I always seem to push it in too far. There's definitely a learning curve on this one. Have some scrap paper to practise on first. I went through about six pieces. lol

The ribbon on the hat is from pattern paper. Stamped the hat image on the pattern paper and then cut it out. Added a pearl to the hat for some jazz. Like it?

May 1st Deborah's shop will be opening. In the meantime you can check her blog out at Fargocat Designs .

I feel like I've been working and working on stuff but haven't been able to share anything. Next Tuesday I will be able to share some things I've been working on for Sketches by Tamara . Every Tuesday will be a new project and challenge. Hope you check it out.

That's all I have to share about stamping today however I'll share a little about news on the radio station.

I was out for my morning walk  today around 9:30 and the sun was shining and it was actually a little warm for walking but I was enjoying it nonetheless. The radio announcer comes on and says you better get out and enjoy the weather today cause come May 1 to October it's going to get bad. lol I realized what they meant was the humidity and heat are going to increase. I've never been known to think that was a bad thing but we shall see. I do know my walks will have to start earlier in the morning.

Make A Wish.....And My News!

Good Afternoon!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. I know I am (especially after my post office trip!). The card and my news are both tied together!

I am thrilled  to announce that I will be the In House Designer for a new blog .. Fargocat Designs.

Fargocat Designs is owned by Deborah Lecreux in Nova Scotia and she has asked me to share some inspiring ideas and projects for her new online store which is opening May 1st. I just received a package in the mail containing some amazing products to design with.  I won't share all the stuff that she will be carrying today but I can tell you she will be carrying the "Ciao" Copic Markers! The price on them will be $3.75 (tax in). They are the ones I've been using on all my projects for the last eight months and love them. I know she has a good selection (I made recommendations on which ones to order first based on color combos I generally use together).  While we were attending the CHA show we found a few new items that neither of us had played with before, but will get a chance to soon.

House Mouse is one of the lines of stamps Deborah will carry and they will be in stock for a May 1st opening.  Which brings me to today's post! In future I will try and share what color of markers I used on the projects. I didn't write it down when I did this card so I can't remember for sure! Pink and browns are always a good color combo. I used circles to make the tabs at the top and bottom edges of the card. A little glitter applied to the icing to make it look more yummy!

I'm looking forward to designing for Fargocat Designs and continuing to share my enthusiasm and love  for paper crafting with you.

Tulips - And Friday Is The Big Day!

Hi!

Just slipping a quick post in tonight. Thought I would share another card I made at craft class.

This card was done with punched images. The tulips and the leaves are actually the wing from a bird punch. Pretty cool. If memory serves me correctly the pattern paper was from a Christmas paper line. All items on this card are from Stampin' Up.

Are you wondering what news I have to share...tomorrow I will post the details.  I do have to head on out to the post office first thing in the morning ...need to submit some taxes... ugh but there is also a parcel waiting for me to pick up too. I love parcels and this one is particularly exciting.

She Looks Spunky!

It's been afew days since I've posted. Been working on a few things but can share them just yet.

I did color up another one of these cute little fairies. I relly think they are sweet.

My pattern paper was from Costco. The little dew drops are from the "water" collection. So pretty with this paper. I also used a SU border punch onthe stripes. Does't that make a beautiful edging.
I did color the fairy with Copics then cut out and mounted with dimensionals. I wanted some little saying on the front but didn't have a stamp that was suitable. I had rub-ons left over from Stampin' Up and used one fo those.

Must get back to scrapbooking. Hope you're having a crafty afternoon.
