It's A Boy!
Morning There,
First off I want to let you know my Grandson was born on Monday at 5:02 p.m. weighing in at a healthy 7 lbs 7 oz.
As you can see I have been busy ... I actually had this already done but I couldn't get the pictures to upload to the computer from the camera. The disk seems to get stubborn every once in a while and yes it decided to have a moment at the most inopportune time.
I started with a 8 x 8 glass block from Hobby Lobby. Inside I've inserted a set of lights so it can work as a night light. I also now know how to install a cord switch if the set of lights doesn't have this option. Very easy to do.
This side of the block I used Word Collage Cricut cartridge and blue vinyl from Joann's. Before I added the vinyl I also sprayed the outside of the block so it have a frosted look to it and it also makes the lightening softer.

On the reverse side of the block I used Nursery Tails and printed the image with my Imagine on printable vinyl.
The image on the card was also take from the Nursery Tail cartridge.
I thought the little carriage was really cute and I might put some treats in there for Xavier.
The design for this came from Scor-pal. The directions are here. In the directions they don't list a size for the wheels...I started with the Stampin' Up scallop punch and sized down from there using my nestabilities. I like my added touch of spokes. Again it was a Stampin' Up punch and I just cut two, one in each color. A sparkly blue brad to finish.
Can't stay on the computer long this morning....I have lots of things to get done before we leave for Canada tomorrow. I know Poppy & Nana have to stay away from the stores today. We keep stopping in and checking out the cute kids clothes department and apparently we lack self-control.
I really am going to try and post while I'm gone....I have the pictures loaded to my blog already.
Thanks for stopping by!

Here's The Scoop?
Morning There,
A little update here...DIL in labor...new grandson should arrive today! Will post pics when I get them.
I thought this was a pretty cool birthday card. I utilized the Yummy cartridge for the image and paper. Couple things I did that really changes up the card is corner round only two corners. Such a little thing...but well judge for yourself.
Using the cuttle bug Swiss Dot folder for the green background (definitely a must have...I use it all the time) also put the cone part through a folder and it was Argyle. Worked okay. Ribbon was a little piece of the stash I got at the scrapbook convention and then decided on the brown tag and some dew drops to balance off the card.
The fun part is I put a wobbler behind the green scoop so it wiggles like it's gonna fall. :)
Lastly some diamond stickles on the green ice-cream that I like to think of as pistachio...AND the pick scoop was going to get Cotton Candy Pink BUT .....I was almost out and couldn't seem to get the stickles to run to the tip so I had a FABULOUS idea...pop it in the microwave for just a few seconds and it would help to liquefy it more. I'm full of good ideas, however, two things probably contributed to the disaster 1) I didn't take the lid off of the tiny container 2) tiny container 10 seconds to much.
Needless to say it exploded in the microwave and I was left cleaning up Cotton Candy Pink Stickles from everywhere.

Party!
Hi There,
Well I must say last year we were in a drought but I think the weather is making up for last year. We've certainly been getting a lot of rain and not just the usually downpour and then it's over for the day. I'm talking hard rain for five or six hours at a time.
I'm really liking these stamps. It is part of the "Girlfriends" series by Art Impressions. Super great for coloring with copic markers. I did purchase three different images.
Pattern Paper - Cricut cartridge - Word of Mouth
Stamps - Stampin' UP
Spellbinders
Copics

I uploaded to blogger about 12 different projects and still have a few to go. Perhaps now I'll be able to get my projects posted in a more timely fashion. I hate having to take the photos/upload/edit etc.....

Add some eyelets for embellishment. They help to keep with the masculine theme.
Anybody being paying attention to sneak peaks for new stuff coming out at CHA next week.
Spellbinders did a big reveal on their products again. I haven't looked at them all but there are some dies that do the fold and tuck designs.
Click Spellbinders to see all of their latest additions.
Let me know what your favorites are?

In The Pink
Hi There,
Made a quick card for an upcoming birthday for a niece. It follows the MojoMonday Sketch
The image and pattern paper from Imagine More Cards. Two cuttlebug folders used - swiss dots and filigree. The filigree sort of matched the pattern paper. A little bling is always good on a girly card!
A couple photos from my week-end. This task wasn't physical just creepy crawly! Kristen got the snake and it got the worms.

Mine wasn't too bad...once I found out I got to use a toothpick to pick up the marshmellows with the worms on it.
Off to the gym. Working on a birthday card that involves coloring with my copics!

I'm Back
Hi There,
I'be been gone for awhile now. I did get back a week ago from Toronto but just haven't gotten around to posting. So first things first. I'll talk about the scrapbook page for those who come here to see craftiness and if you're here to find out what I've been doing personally, just scroll to the bottom and I'll give you an update.
This scrapbook page is the co-ordinating page for the first one here. Imagine cartridge Notebook Doodles for the pattern paper. It's just so much fun. The playground equipment was a digital download from CCR.
I used ink to create some shadows on the paper pieces. If you don't like working with ink try chalks. The best thing about chalk is if you don't like it take a white eraser and erase off the chalk.
As Kristen is posing I'm planning how I'm going to win this round. I don't think she expected me to start pulling so quickly. She was probably taking it easy on me....there was no way I wanted to do squats. "Incentive"
If you're still hanging in there, thanks for letting me share this special experience. Maybe tomorrow it will be snakes & worms!

I do have lots of other projects to share I just need to make time to get them up!
I'm going to share a few photos of my trip to Toronto. As many of you know my daughter, Kristen and I competed in the City Chase which is a six hour event whereby you uncover the clues and then navigate your way to the destination in order to complete a physical task.
We did this last year and came away saying "those tasks were pretty easy!" Let me tell you this year they were definitely a lot more physical.
I'll share a few photos at the end of each post over the next few days.
This was the most difficult event.
1. Crawl along the ground under a net.
2. Crawl through tires (those were darn small tires - if I was much bigger I would have had a tough time!)
3. Weave in and out of some sticks - that was easy.
4.Kristen sends me back to the start where we left our backpacks. Somebody needed to get the camera. lol
Get over the wall pictures below - Kristen took some fine photos of me trying to get my butt over (not posted). Thanks Kristen!
5. There is a long bungee cord. One of us on each end. First one to kick of the pylon over wins other one has to do squat with weighted bar.
6. 10 squats with bar.
7.No picture - Attach a parachute to your body and run a course.
Finish Line!
There were 1200 teams in total - 445 teams completed the required elements - we placed 250!
If you're still hanging in there, thanks for letting me share this special experience. Maybe tomorrow it will be snakes & worms!
