What Time Is It?

Hi There,

I can't seem to get the day of the week right so I probably don't know  what time it is either. I said earlier I was going to post on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays. I am managing to get in the three posts but not necessarily on those days!

My mojo has been a little off later...I haven't crafted for almost a week. That's so not me. This morning I decided to pull out my stamps and inks and try something different.

The card is basic although there are lots of different techiniques used.

With the exception of the black cardstock the remainder paper started off a vanilla color.
The large background piece was done using a blender pad and Tim Holtz inks - Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey. Once I had made a solid background I stamped images of clock gears randomly over the paper with Pumice ink. The stamps are from Stampin' UP.

For the clock piece I used the same three inks above and then usng versamark stamped the image and embossed with SU detail black powder.

Spellbinders circle nestabilities  to cut out the clock and to make the black layer.  Went searching through my stash of accessories and found some metal embellishments that were a good fit. Added a couple black brads to the clock too.
It was a quick project and I now have a maculine card on hand for that next birthday!

Better go work on another project while I'm inspired!

Gotta Make You Smile

Hi,

If this card doesn't make you smile...nothing will

I used a big assortment of stuff from my stash.

For starters the "Valentine Couple" is from Enjoy The Seasons Imagine Cartridge.

The lovely doily I had sitting in my I cut it but haven't used it pile. Actually I did use half of the doily on another card. The paper was printed with the Imagine but a die from Cherry Lynn Dies  ( I think that is the name) was used.

Ribbon, flower and pattern paper from previous shopping experiences.

The two labels at the top are cut with Spellbinders. I did print the pink paper and the Happy Valentine's Day on CCR using Cindy Lou Font.
There we have it...a happy card.

My LOVE Bug!

Morning,

Still on the Valentine kick! I needed to make a card for Xavier so I can put his Valentine treats in the mail. I think it is so cute.

Cartridge for the bug and words is Create A Critter. The heart pattern paper is actually from Imagine cartridge Frosty, which is more of a winter/Christmas one.
The border punch is from Fiskars and "with love" is a cuttlebug embossing folder. I sanded it after embossing. Red stickles on the two hearts and the remaining hearts are the scraps from the border punch. You'll notice at the top of the card I have a half heart. Sometimes to balance out your work you need to put something right on the edge of the cardstock. Same idea if you're stamping your background...don't be afraid to stamp off of the edge of the cardstock, makes things look like you cut it from a larger piece of paper.

Back to the little bug. I cut the shadow feature twice - once in red and once in black. I offset the black layer to give it more depth.

Take A Moment, Enjoy Today

LOVE!

Good Morning!

It's Monday and my day for posting at Creative Critterz Imaginations. Things have changed up a little over there...we have two new design teams so we'll be alternating weeks. Nothing much will change on my blog as I plan to continue with Imagine posting on all Mondays.

A little chit chat first....How was your week-end? I spent Saturday out Geocaching. It was fun, found a new park to hike in and found a few caches too. Geocaching is like a scavenger hunt but click on the link above to read all about it. Lots of fun, gets you outside and a little exercise too. AND it's FREE. Saturday evening to friends for a lovely supper...YUM and Sunday a little crafting.

That discussed our project theme is Valentine. I've got a few cards completed for this theme and each one I made I liked better. You're still going to get to see the rest of them this week. Might have to slip in an extra post to get them all covered. lol (I also took a picture of my craftroom/desk when I'm creating)

For this project I did utilize Cricut Craftroom. Once again it's great for sizing your projects before you cut them. You also save paper because you can move the images where you want to unlike when you use the Imagine as a stand alone it places the images for you on the screen.

Started with George & Basic shapes and placed two 5.5" circles on the screen. They automatically weld together. This is my basis for my card.  Next I used Paper Trimmings at 5.25" and cut the heart circle and flood filled using Heirloom and also cut the shadow using black.  George & Basic shapes circles at black at 3.8" and blush at 3.6". The birds from Wedding cut at 3.125. Lastly Sweethearts cartridge for Love cut at 1.35".

Tiny black beads placed between each heart. Also used pop dots between the heart layers and the black inner circle for some dimension.

If you have questions regarding CCR drop me a note and I'll try and help you out. Thanks for all your comments I do read them all and appreciate it.

Enjoy your day!

Valentine Votives

Happy Friday!

Do you remember Monday I told you I had some Valentine candles to share? Well here they are.
Last week-end I stopped into Bath & Body Works. If you look closely inside the glass votive you can see a small candle. They were selling these for $1.50 and they gave you the glass votive for it. I bought three on Saturday and went back on Sunday, as it was the last day of the sale and bought 10 more. I can see these for every occasion.

Obviously they are all decorated with vinyl. The cricut cartridge used for the cuts was Sweethearts. This is more of a wedding cartridge but worked great cause I didn't have any Valentine cartridges. I know....hard to imagine right? :) The characters are all cut at 2" and the wording was about 1 1/2".
I used a small punch for the tiny hearts.

BTW the candles are scent flavored. The green one is mint chocolate. Makes me want to eat it rather than smell it.

You will be seeing more of these little gems done up. I'm already thinking spring, with some flowers on the votive and maybe some rhinestones or pearls in the centre of the flowers. Once I get going the possibilities are endless.

Enjoy your week-end. We're experiencing warmer than usual temperatures for this time of the year so I think I'll try and do something outside.

Pretty In Pink

Hi There,

Just a quick little hello today. My goal in the New Year is to post on Monday, Wed, & Friday. We'll see how that goes.

Everyone once in a while I take a card class from a local Stampin' Up Demonstrator. This was one of the cards we did at her class. All products are Stampin' Up. A couple new things that I played with that  Stampin' Up didn't have when I was a Demonstrator - They have like a sizzix die that cut the wavy edge on the bottom of the paper and then a matching embossing folding for the embossed look.  They have sticky pearls in packages now.
Aqua Painter and ink to color the flowers. Images stamped in Stazon to prevent ink from running.
Enjoy!

Baking Cookies With Nana

Good Morning,

Hope you had a relaxing week-end. I filled mine with some crafting. I did cards, Valentine candles and some scrapbooking. I've been neglectful of my scrapbooking and need to get consistent again.

Announcement for the new additions to the design team at Creative Critterz Imaginations were announced on Friday! Woo Hoo! Look forward to working with these talented ladies.

I visited my 2 1/2 year old Grandson in November and had a list of things I wanted him & I to do together. One was be cookies. What a riot that was. I forgot what it is like have an eager helper. lol
We all wore a little flour.
For both pages I used Kate's Kitchen for all the paper and images. The tiny hearts were made with a punch. Quicker & easier.
Faux stitching around the letters. Inked the green cardstock. Doing both of these techniques helps to give the look of added layers and definition.
Cartridge used for the recipe card - From My Kitchen
I utilized CCR to get the sizing right. If you haven't tried CCR yet you should give it a whirl.
Even if you don't cut with it being able to organize the images for sizing is a great help and also for color matching.
Before I started using CCR I wasted a lot of paper - I would cut on scrap paper first to see if the sizing was correct and then re-cut using the project paper.
The hand is supposed to be my Grandson's, I had his parents trace it and e-mail to me. There was a sizing problem when I printed it so I had to re-size it. I'll have to get the original snail mailed to me.
The recipe for baking cookies pretty much says it all.
It was a fun time. Now to scrapbook the decorating of the cookies.
That was another adventure.
Thanks for taking the time today to visit and allowing me to share with you.

Stampin' Time

Good Morning,

Just a quick card to share with you today. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!. The latice work is a die cut as well as a die was used to cut out the label.

I quite like their new folded ribbon. I attached it with double sided tacky tape and it worked well.
I'm currently working on a couple scrapbook pages and those always take a while. Hope to be able to share those on Monday.

Enjoy your week-end.

Thank You - CCR

Hello There,

Hope everyone had a good week-end. The weather was great here so I went for a couple hikes and did a little geocaching. FUN!

A little story I've been meaning to share. When my DD was getting ready to leave after Christmas to go home I was doing the last minute scan of the house to see what might be left behind. I checked the dresser drawers in her bedroom and found NOT her stuff but clothes I had bought for Xavier that I forgot about. lol Valentines Day present I guess. Fortunately 2 pairs of pants are size 4 and he's not that big yet. One size 3 outfit tha will fit and one pair of PJ's that are going to be too small. :( I've already got a head start on clothes for baby #2.

Just a reminder that if you would like to be part of a really fun design team be sure to check out the link as Creative Critterz Imaginations are looking for some new designers. Deadline is soon.
This weeks project is using CCR (Cricut Craft Room). I worked on this Sunday afternoon and now realize as I'm writing up my post a video would have been helpful. I've made a quick video explaining this. If you want a copy of the cut file just leave me a message in the comments so I can send it to you.
I started by taking the Tulip2 - page 40 ( Art Nouveau cartridge) and welding four of them together. This particular handbook suggests the minimum size you should try to cut the image at and this is very helpful as this cartridge has intricute cuts. The smallest size they suggested on the Tulip2 was 3" and that was what I used. In CCR you have to remember to use the flip buttons so you can rotate the image.
I also added some inking to the borders on the pattern paper as well as I inked the tulips and added some glitter.
This is what it looked like on my computer using the CCR. The patten paper is from the Elise cartridge.
Lacy Labels was used for the Thank you and the two layers underneath. These were also cut at 3" and that is the smallest you can go otherwise the Thank you won't cut properly.
This is what the tulip looked like before I welded four of them together.
Thank for looking!

Entering this in the Cricut Circle Magazine Challenge.

Chocolate Any One?

Good Morning,

My last post for the week.

I'm entering this card in two different challenges. Firs is Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.
The second one is Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. You had to create with a cup, or chocolate, or the color brown.

The cup is from Love You A Latte cartridg cut a 1.5". Paper on mug is from Snow Angel Imagine Cartridge and the background paper is from Christmas Wish. I really like that paper. The brown paper also printed and cut with the Imagine and Christmas Wish. Remaining paper regular cardstock.

Stamped images - Stampin' Up
Embossed the blue strips with Swiss Dots
Tag - Stampin' Up punches
Circles - Spellbinders
Tim Holtz - Antique Linen sponged on top of whipped cream and around frame on inside.

Looks like I'm an equal opportunist - I support everybody!
When I mail this card out I'll insert a little chocolate too!
Thanks for looking today. I'll see you on Monday.

Thank You! & Design Team Call

Good Morning,

It's that time of the year when we can all use a thank you card or two.

Just wanted to let you know that Creative Critterz Imagines are looking for some new people to add to their Design Team. Click here for details.

I used a variety of items on this card. The flower stamp is from Heartfelt Creations and colored with the copics. I did take a close up of the flower but the pic was a bit blurry and I've already sent the card away. :( The pretty lace border was Martha Stewart Lattice Edge. I just punched it on both sides. Many Thanks - from Stampin Up! and embossed with black. Ribbon, flowers and brads from my stash. The label cut with Cricut. Lacy Labels 1.5". Lastly the pattern paper - my Costco stash!

You can't really see it in the photo but the flowers are 3-d.
Wondering if anybody knows how to take a picture with your I-pad and upload it to blogger? Thought I might ask first and if I don't get any answer then I'll start searching the internet.

What's everybody up to these days? I've been trying to get out and exercise daily. I went to a new class this morning....a body pump class. First time in a long time that my legs were so fatigued I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get back up from a lunge position. This class uses the bar with weights on the ends.  I finished...now to see how sore I am tomorrow. lol

Enjoy your day!

Sweet

Happy New Year,

Hope everyone had wonderful holiday season. It's now time to get back to crafting. I for one know that I have really missed playing/creating in my craftroom over the holidays.

My day to post over at Creative Critterz Imaginations Blog.

There was no theme this week for the design team to follow. We could just let our creative juices flow.
I went with a birthday card....it should read belated....I remembered the birthday just didn't have time to get it finished.
I choose the Yummy cartridge for both the pattern paper and the image. The cake is from page 5 and I didn't alter the color combo, however the word Sweet on page 24 I changed up the colors to have it match. Add a little ribbon, some dew drops and a little glitter to the cherry and your card is complete!

I have lots of projects to work on and some exercise time to fit in too. I may have had a little too much poppy cock and cookies. But it was Yummy!
